It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Maxvorstadt: (re)add support for old processors that don’t have SSE2

Interesting, that it supports CPUs that are about 16 years old or older. So, if you still have an Intel Pentium or AMD K6 or Cyrix PR 166 CPU you can use that viewer. :-D
SSE2, not SSE.
That's K7 or P4.

SSE was added around PIII.
Cyrix PR166 didn't have SSE.

None of those are too critical, codepath should be able to detect instructions availability and use "optimized" or generic path. "(re)add instruction support" probably means the dev just disabled it altogether, thus older without's are suddenly supported.

Ah, my fault. Good to see that someone still rmembers the good old Cyrix.
Cyrix instead!!! :-)

Amazing FPUs, but overhyped in marketing with rating and not always perfect x86 execution due to shared instruction/data cache... Was good stuff, like 3dfx later in 3d =)

adaliabooks: Nah, I still use it, for now at least.

I worked somewhere where they used Foxit Reader as a default and I hated it, and since Acrobat is free I've always used it.
Switch to Sumatra then. It's just what I wanted. Only thing, I'm still getting used to pdf icons being yellow instead of red.
Another vote for Sumatra.
Another Sumatra user here.
I like using Foxitreader, Does a great job for being able to put scans of my comic books to PDF and printing of PDF.

Well you could always change the icon yourself using FileTypesMan (for example).
Personally I don't mind, it definitely makes 'em stand out ;)

I know, but I don't want to. The author obviously likes the yellow colour, judging by his website, so having more of it appear on my icons is a small price to pay for his excellent program.

mike_cesara: Sumatra PDF once more, sold!
or Evince ; p
I use Zathura or Okular. But Evince is also nice. And Sumatra PDF also seems to fit my tastes and handle lots of formats.

Thanks, I may give them a try on another machine
I liked Sumatra very much, unfortunately no available on Linux..
I like Evince for its simplicity.

Poppler provides a nice Free library for rendering PDF files. That means that people who want to make a new PDF reader can instead concentrate on its UI or extra features.
This way it is more likely that I can get a PDF reader that meets my needs, and improvements to it are shared across applications.

Thanks again Gede!
I will definitely look for something very light for my other ancient netbook. If I had enough time I could rewrite it with xlib I guess ; ))

Oh, in that case, Okular (a KDE project) may not be the best choice. Take a look at , then (if you like the vi keys). [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zathura_%28document_viewer%29]Wikipedia link. Quite light and fast. It goes great with my tabbed window manager as you can do almost everything without touching the mouse.
