Kind of a treasure map. You'll have to use it to navigate on the Island for progression) and the game itsself is cool, too!
Definitely not a treasure map, underappreciated game though. The cartography mechanic is surprisingly more involved than some other bigger budget/bigger development team titles with similar mechanics tend to get.
Final Fantasy 9
iirc the first Risen game has something like that. Haven't played the 2nd and 3rd Risen, but googling indicates they've also got treasure map quests.
There's a very minor example in Albion (1995 German rpg) too, but it's limited to just one location.

Was gonna post the Risen games. 2 and 3 have them as well, even more of them if I recall correctly. Risen 2 especially executes very well on the pirate theme, both in visuals and dialog, though Risen 3 is mostly better gameplay wise.
Total War Warhammer 2 vampire pirates faction work with treasure maps too.... Jolly good fun if i might add!

I haven't played Risen 2 and 3 myself, partly because they've got a bad reputation (at least among the gaming connoisseurs of RPGcodex :-), partly because my laptop can't run them anyway. But thanks for confirming they've got treasure map quests!
Has already been mentioned, but there was a huge treasure map quest in Gothic 2 (which was quite well done imo), seems to be part of the Piranha bytes game template. Does anybody know, if Elex has something like that?

Second one isnt terribly demanding on a laptop if you can deal with ~30fps. I think theres some mods / tweaking to imrpove performance too. Still havent tried 3.
Red Dead Redemption had well done treasure maps. I mean the first game, I haven't played the second one yet.

Then I noticed the title was PC games only, so ignore the above since Red Dead is not on PC

Treasure Adventure Game. (Treasure Adventure World turned them all into 'navpearls', though)

They're PB's worst games, but still enjoyable if you like their style. Risen 2 mostly suffers from smaller, more linear areas. It has a great theme though, and great sarcastic PB style dialog. Risen 3 has much more open areas and traditional PB world design, but I found its story and dialog much less interesting. Anyway, the Codex heaps hate on anything that isn't amazing and no, Risen 2 and 3 are not amazing. I enjoyed them though.

I enjoyed Gothic 2 and Risen quite a lot (the first Gothic less so, the latter half was pretty tedious imo), but tbh those games are almost too huge for me. iirc Gothic 2 took me something like 72 hours to complete, which is a bit depressing to think about. So if I ever make that kind of time investment again, it has to be a really good game, not just a more mediocre version of the previous games.
I might try Elex eventually, if I get a new laptop some day (my current one is from 2011 and can't run most games after 2010 or so).

Heh, I just spent 150 hours on the somewhat mediocre Pathfinder Kingmaker, so yeah we have different thresholds. Elex is much better, try and play that someday.

Good to know , I like the baldurs gate type games . Reading reviews about Kingmaker made me to skip it. Elex hmm never even heard about this one looks nice just expensive :(
Kona, it's a nice game overall and you find these maps while you are exploring.
Sweet sweet.
I have Gothic 1 and 2 sitting around as well as HoMM.
I'll look into Miasmata, I gather it doesn't include treasure maps, but does utilize maps well, which is what I guess I really want.
I don't think I have the patience for Pillars' abundant lore.
Grimrock and Kona I don't think I can run lol.

Thanks people, keep em coming if you remember any.
