Here in germany a lot of point'n'click adventures are still DRM-free (no activation on services like steam).

Also the Risen trilogy is DRM-free:

Greenlynx: Should have clarified in my post huh? My Definition of DRM free is no steam client required. I found Witcher 3 but from the sounds of it I'd need to spend a few hundred in upgrades to be able to run it.

Edit: Nevermind, Armello in its DRM free state is missing 2 DLCs plus updates.
Why not go digital DRM-free? Is it a bandwidth/connection issue?

For me, DRM with a physical copy starts when I need anything other than what came in the box to play the game.
Pretty much my definition too. And also the reason why I almsot never get to buy physical releases any more. Eveything requires Steam. Even games that are otherwise available without it on GOG or Humble. But on disc? "Requires a Steam account".

At least in Europe, Heroes of Might and Magic V becomes DRM-Free after installing patch 1.60 (the disc is no longer required to play). Unfortunately, this doesn't apply to the expansions.

Just picked up NFS Hot Pursuit (2010) and it teeters on the threshold of what I will tolerate. :P

It doesn't require you to log into a client but that doesn't stop it from beating you over the head about it every time you play.

Some retail versions of Gothic 3 are DRM-free, I think. I can't think of anything else that doesn't require a patch. Vampire Bloodlines for example gets DRM-free with the unofficial patch.

Aside of the original Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia 2009, and the Witcher games most of what I could think of would either be special rewards from Kickstarter (such as drm-free physical visual novels) or doujin/indie Japanese games (and Falcom stuff). That's in terms of not even requiring the disc etc.. If you could handle disc checks then the options open up a bit more I guess.

I succeeded in finding a copy of Witcher 3 complete edition in town today and I am loving it. I use Steam as well, but I'm just burned out on the whole DRM system so I wanted to challenge myself to buy games that don't use this model. As I grew up on buying games in the store (I'm 23), It was amazing to actually leave the store with a PC game that actually had install discs in the box!
