It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Same problem here

Dwarden: PayPal - Selected payment method is currently unavailable, please choose a different one.

i'm unable to make purchases in last few days ... zero explanation what is wrong

note: it works fine in GOG galaxy, so problem is only when using any chromium browser (chrome, vivaldi, opera, iron etc.)
Hey I got the exact same error and also thought it was noscript but it wasn't. I don't know about the other browsers but I use Firefox and it was silently blocking the PayPal popup. Once I allowed pops for GOG even with the error still on the page I clicked the pay button and clicked the confirmation button in the PayPal window that opened and the payment went through.

Don't know if this will help anyone else, but, fingers crossed.
I still can't buy anything. Is this going to be fixed? I've been trying to buy games for weeks now.

"There was a problem with processing your payment. Please try again." What problem? It should be explained, at the very least.

EDIT: It works in Galaxy. But I'd still prefer to be able to use my browser for future purchases.

mrkgnao: Another related issue:
- If you try to "buy" a FREE game/DLC as a gift, the checkout button on the "Checkout" window now reads "Pay with PayPal", not "Get Free" (or whatever it used to read).
- If you click on the "Pay with PayPal", a Paypal pop-up appears, then disappears, and a GOG "There was a problem with processing your payment. Please try again." error message is printed.
- However, the "purchase" does go through and the gift code appears in your "Orders History" window.

Probably the same if you buy it not as a gift (couldn't test).
A month has passed and this issue has not been fixed yet.
I was getting the "payment method unavailable" message but setting "network.http.sendRefererHeader" to 2 in about:config in Firefox fixed it. Likely won't be the solution for most people though because 2 is the default value.

I just tried it with Jill of the Jungle: The Complete Trilogy (as a gift) - the checkout button read "Pay for your order", just as always, and it worked just fine (a swirl showed on the button for a bit, and then I got the usual page about my order).

So, it's either been fixed since you posted or it doesn't affect everyone. Or maybe not all free games?

Tried again with Jill just now. Got the same problem as before. I believe it depends on your last cart.

Could you please try this:
1) Put a game you do not own in your cart.
2) Select Paypal as your payment option.
3) Remove the game from your cart without buying it.
4) Add Jill to your cart.
5) Type the gift recipient's address.
6) Try checking out. Did you see the issue or not?
7) Ask GOG to add an option to delete unwanted gifts from your order history (optional).

mrkgnao: I tried several combinations of these (and other trackers) and the following finally worked:
- www.paypal.com GREEN
- cdn.siftscience.com RED
Thanks, those settings in Privacy Badger helped me to be able to pay with PayPal again!

Sorry for the late reply.

That's interesting, especially since I didn't, and still don't, own Jill of the Jungle: The Complete Trilogy when I did the test, i.e. requirement of step 1 was fulfilled (I think?).

Do you think that makes a difference regarding my test result, or do you still think I should try the above steps, i.e. game of steps 1-3 mustn't be a free one?

I believe the game in 1-3 shouldn't be free and shouldn't be owned (to lock the PayPal setting). And the game in 4-6 should be free (to trigger the bug).

Well, I went through steps 1-3, only to get this message:
Selected payment method is currently unavailable, please choose a different one.
which I'm stuck with, and can't proceed with steps 4-6 - message shows on the checkout page no matter what title I choose, and the checkout button appears inactive (see attached screenshot).

So you're in the "cannot use paypal, full stop" group...

Apparently so.
Come on Gog!

Using Galaxy Client 1.2.59, trying to use Pay Pal like I was using since 2010, and this happen:

There was a problem with processing your payment.
Please try again.

Then, after some retry, I can pass this shit and log in to my PayPal acount, for nothing, nothing happens only a trhobber over the Pay button, and again an endless loop, and failing again again and again.

In an endless loop. So, I'm on the full stop club.

Edit:
Same thing with web browser, full stop, can't purchase anything from Gog.

By the way, I use different email address for PayPal and Gog account.

Edit 2:
Something weird happened yesterday, and now I don't know what to think, maybe is Paypal failing but they made the payment and then a refund to Gog. Don't have the game or any receipt from Gog, nor new order in my profile, just Paypal's nonsense..

I need help.

Notblue: […] I need help.
Seriously, make a problem ticket and get Gog support to assist. There is zero point in documenting your trouble here when you don't know what the problem is and we can't tell.
