I have 3 Visa cards from Ford Motor Service (given to me as "rebate cards"). They each say "Debit" on them. The total remaining on each card is tiny, but the combined total is enough for me to buy some super-cheap discounted games on HB and/or Steam (just specifying that this is not a GOG question).

How can I combine them to make a single purchase? I tried linking them to my PayPal account, but HB wants its payment in full rather than in chunks.

I can't put them into my PayPal wallet, because they're not linked to my bank account.

I can't even try to add them to my Steam or HB wallets, because their minimum is $5.

So can anyone suggest how I can make use of these 3 cards for this?

You could make three PayPal transactions (using each of your cards) to a friend's PayPal account and they simply send it back to you. Then the full amount is in your PayPal Wallet at your disposal.

Nope, no good. It's free if it comes straight from my bank account, but if it's from a card they want to charge a fee.

Darn, so how about Google Wallet? It should allow you to send money from debit cards without a fee (to US residents).

I don't have it, so I don't know. Looking it up, it's for Android and iOS only. HB doesn't list it as an accepted form of payment. But Google Wallet does say "When you receive money through Google Wallet, you can quickly cash out to your bank account using a debit card or linked bank account" so it looks like it SHOULD be able to do it.

Fingers crossed, I'm gonna give it a shot!

Somebody using Google Wallet could also send you the money back via PayPal since they instantly see your transaction on their Google Wallet. However, you'd need a trustworthy person using both services.

Just tried using the cards with Google Wallet. It tells me "Credit cards can't be used with this product"....despite the card saying "DEBIT" right on it, and despite GW having an option to "add a debit card."

Feh. Looks like I'll just have to spend these cards in a retail store (or a grocery store) as partial payments. Sucks that I'm gonna have to be "that guy" in line who wants to split his bill into ridiculously small charges across 3 different cards PLUS cash....maybe if I just do it one card at a time for the sake of not wasting any of the money on them.

I appreciate your suggestions, DeMignon. If you have any others between now & tomorrow (I ain't leaving the house again tonight, it's 9:34pm where I'm at), feel free to post them.

So to good to be true :-| Looks like you're running out of options, except for the "grocery solution". If there'd be a a bit more on card left (more than $1), you could have bought an Amazon giftcard or similar, which you would have no trouble using in the future. But with a few cents left, store credits are probably nowhere an option anymore as well as cashing out at a bank because of the fees.

A last idea depends on whether this is possible with these Visa cards. Instead of spending the last few cents, you could recharge the cards with a small amount and then deplete them completely for any store credit or precalculated purchase.

You can't deposit the amount into your bank account? Seems to me that would be easiest, to deposit to your bank account then use Paypal from there.

It's not letting me do it online, but that does sound like a potential option.

This is ridiculously difficult, ain't it?
