bluethief: According to Epic, Valve has no policy for prices on other stores yet, except for Steam keys. But in the article says: "Rosen alleges that Steam use their power even when Steam keys aren't involved.".
Also Epic seems to be the ones setting the final price on their store, and can lower them to match Steam's without approval from partners.
Epic is wrong on that, or we just have a large number of people lying. There's just too many instances of legit sources claiming that Steam forces price parity between stores regardless if there's a Steam key involved or not. I've even seen numerous patreon funded games that release on Steam have long time subscriber reward tiers adjusted just because Valve forced them to.Also Epic seems to be the ones setting the final price on their store, and can lower them to match Steam's without approval from partners.
