A simulator so realistic it stinks of gunk… Farmer's Life is out of early access and available on GOG in its full glory!

Farmer's Life is the first simulator to show the real, sometimes dark, rural life. You will lead the life of Kazimierz - bachelor, and alcoholic. Help him become an exemplary farmer, start a family, take care of the farm or watch him roll to the very bottom. In addition, don't forget that life in the countryside has its own rules. Your daily rhythm and work are determined by many factors - such as weather conditions, seasons, and the resources you manage.
Sow, look after the flock, and protect the farm from uninvited guests. Learn from your mistakes and monitor your progress as each day on the farm may be your last.

Check it out!

Why is everyone hating on this? I was never interested in farming games, but this one looks the most interesting.
Is it because it's not another standard cutesey cartoony farming game? This looks rather unique in comparison to all the other farming games.

As for the alcoholic part, I don't this is meant to be a representation of all farmers. it just so happens that the main character is.

I will probably pick this up. Hopefully they'll add achievements in the future.

So same thing as:

Just not "Cutesey".

Zoidberg: Was it necessary to make the protagonist alcoholic? :/

BreOl72: In Eastern-Europe, farmers ARE alcoholics...all that Slivovitz, Vodka, Mastika, Rakija, Pelinkovac, etc. hasn't been invented for nothing.

;-)

(and - going by personal experience with some of them - I'm pretty sure, their Western-European/German counterparts aren't exactly teetotalers either)
BreOl72: the game is set in poland. if you look at a map, you'll see that if you split europe in half, poland would still be in the western half, and if you split it into thirds, it would be in central europe.

your ignorance is as stupid as your alcoholic stereotypes.

I guess Russia is also part of Western Europe by your logic due to Kaliningrad.

Guys, you all need to chill. This ain't twitter, and the game isn't about fat chicks, so there's no need to get all offended and whine about things being "problematic". In Poland we have a lot of fun with steroetypes about us, including the ones about alcohol. Get off you high horses, maybe get a doctor appointment to do something with those sticks up your bums, and let the game be. Geez.

central. but only as for that exclave. not whole mordor. its on two continents so your wannabe argument makes no sense

there is also tendentious bullshit on wikipedia alongside serious information.
it just depends on who wrote the article. we central europeans really don't give a shit about this nonsense, where for example vienna is west and prague is east, even though vienna is east of prague. only a deplorable moron can spread this pro-russia shit.

How incredibly ignorant and stupid to speak of maps like that, given that there's an infinite number of map projections and choices of where to center the map.

Just for the heck of it, I decided to do a google image search for "map of europe" and draw a line in the midlde of the first image the search brings up. I'll let everyone else interpret the results for themselves..

Of course, none of this matters. The game is fiction, and the game's description says it takes place in the in the middle of east-European nowhere so that's where it is.

I would say it's the same in Lithuania. I once had a Bulgarian friend and we used to have this little competition by sending each other photos of horrible gopnik parts of our countries, trying to see which one was worse off. It was fun. People need to learn to be able to laugh at themselves.

Every country has beautiful parts and ugly decrepit parts. Most people are not alcoholics, but some are. There's no reason why we can't have a game that focuses on the latter for once. I find the visual of this game rather funny and some even bring back childhood memories, like that large blue soviet-era scale that used to be in every market.

What if I don't want to celebrate the stereotypes, but instead want to celebrate the ingenuity and sheer built to last forever that Bloc Countries were so fond of? Nixie tubes, chronographs with no mechanics, experimental engines, fun spinning adding machines, that massive rail boat thing, the many massive jet powered seaplanes (Such as the Beriev Be-10), and so many other examples of fantastical overengineering all in the name of engineering?

I don't know where exactly in Eastern-Europe the game is set - the game's page only mentions "the middle of East-European nowhere".

Of course: if "the middle of East-European nowhere" automatically equates to Poland for you as a Czech...
shrug
There's nothing like good neighbors, huh?

You didn't write that "under the influence", did you?

On a more serious note:
- learn what this ;-) stands for
- learn what the words "personal experience with some of them" mean
- pull that stick out of your ass - it won't ever replace a backbone

zalesie and kazimierz sound simply polish and what you consider as map of europe is map of just eu. just for your information - europe ends with the line of the ural mountains and more to the south - the ural river. so place your line again and correctly cause europe as continent is really not the same as eu :)
avatar
flanner: europe ends with the line of the ural mountains
So you ARE claiming Russia is in Western Europe!

you can't locate such a huge mordor that spans two continents in one region. that would be a grossly inaccurate statement. we can do this with countries of reasonable size. don't make a complete fool of yourself.

or do whatever you want, it's your struggle.
This game looks like a gritty Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing. Ha ha!
Some of the comments here in the thread let me ask if people still are aware that we are talking about a fictional (fictional meaning: someone thought this up and thought it might be funny) video game? Then again I am asking myself the same question in other threads as well ... so maybe I am the crazy person here and I should take video games more seriously.

Are you kidding? ...I mean...are you serious? ...wait...what's in between? :-)
