Now on GOG!
Nice to see this get a 1.0 release!
Congratulations!
Nice too see the spiritual SimAnt successor(?) made it out of EA... :)

I think it is rather a successor to Empire of the Ants (2000).

Which itself is getting a remake.
Woo, finally! Crowdfunded this forever ago. Hopefully they'll send me a GOG key.

You haven't got one yet!? :o This has been out (in EA, at least) for quite a while...
There seems to be a minor oversight: the Linux icon (indicating support) is now missing.

Another user on a separate web site had also noticed this, but had mentioned that the Linux version appears to have been updated along with the Mac and Windows versions.
As a RTS guy, this seems interesting. Bought.

What confused me was though... was this game really released (to EA) back in 2017, as the gamecard suggests?

I was at first a bit nervous as some 2022 messages on the subforum suggested this game might be abandoned, but there has been some 2023 updates on this game after those messages, according to the subforum's changelog thread, and now apparently it got an 1.0 update?

On gogdb there are builds going back to 2018; looks like an average of around 5 builds per year. Slow but steady I guess.

There's no Linux version on Steam either.

Ok so at least it is not abandoned, as a couple of people wondered in the subforum in 2022.

What does that mean? At least on GOG there is a Linux version available, now listed as version 1.000016, the same as the Windows version.

For some reason the changelog mentions only "Update 0.30215 (January 13th, 2022)", also for Windows... Maybe the changelog is just not updated.

I mean Steam doesn't list a Linux version as being available, like GOG. If it was just GOG I could see it being an oversight, but that seems deliberate.
Is this game missing Galaxy Achievements even though it has Achievements elsewhere?

If so, then it's not worth buying, and it never should have came out of Early Access either.

I checked the Linux version, and sadly, no achievements. :(

On the bright side though, I don't care for achievements, so there's that. :)

That's odd indeed. I wonder if they were bribed by MS and Apple not to mention their biggest rival, the Linux?

If it was only GOG not mentioning it, I would take that as a negative sign that GOG is ready to offer the Linux version as well, but doesn't offer any support for it. A bit like sometimes you have the Linux version in Extras, which AFAIK means it is not supported by GOG, but they let you download it regardless.

But that it is missing also on Steam, that is interesting. Especially since it seems they have updated the Linux version even on GOG.

It's worth buying and it should have come out of EA. Your boring Galaxy achievement blathering makes you look dumber and dumber every time you mindlessly repeat it.

There's no Galaxy for Linux, hence no possibility of having any Galaxy achievements, for any game on GOG.

I would bet all the money that this is not the case. Bizarre Linux conspiracy theories are more entertaining than the Galaxy achievement babble, but are still kind of unhinged. :)

OK, just did a search and found a Steam topic from a couple years ago where they say they removed the Linux version from Steam because of some graphical glitches, and recommend running through Proton since it doesn't have those issues and has better performance than the native Linux version anyway. They did say they're continuing to update the Linux version but aren't selling it, until such time as they can fix the issues. Given that was two years ago I think they probably gave up on that. Looks like I get to keep my money, whew!
