I'd put it on my WL for purchase if it came here.

Guess I have 10-12 months before we know if that's happening though.

Mr.Mumbles:
Strange, never took the Fortnight bros to be into blobbers.
Just gonna lightly necro this thread if you don't mind. I'm playing this now, it's really good. It's a shame it was an EGS exclusive which seems to have absolutely tanked its sales, as well as being on the XBL Game Pass thing. You get barely any resources for it when you go online and its official forums haven't been posted in for 2 months even though it came out earlier this year.

ANYWAY, my reason for posting is that my characters just got a passive skill called Children of the Wind. It says we get an Initiative boost when we use a "Wind Skill". Thing is, and I'm sure I must be missing something here, neither of us have any wind things. I have fire, lightning and ice, he has fire and poison. Is a wind skill something you unlock automatically as the game goes on or something?

I don't think Epic really hurts sales, going by other games released there. Probably more just that the game didn't get much attention. Epic guarantees X amount of sales money, so they probably did okay and still have the future Steam/GOG release to look forward to.

Darvond: Tell me a bit more. Aside from the folklore angle, what else does it bring.
It's basically a typical dungeon crawler, not much different from Eye of the Beholder, but with a lot of focus on a story. Colorful characters, funny dialogs, a lot of comments about the world (there is a journal about all monsters and places you visit, that is written by one of the characters).

All game areas (or levels, if you will) are finished one by one in a strict story progression. Though you can return to the ones you've finished to solve the puzzles and find secrets you've missed. You can brew potions (requires to solve a simple puzzle to "unlock" each) during the rest around the fire (that also restores health and mana). Potions are used just like spells and other abilities, except you are limited to certain amount until you rest again and potions are replenished.

Battles are separate "encounters" like in FF. Combat is turn-based, but tactics is rather limited IMHO. I think it's more important if you choose right skills for your characters during level up.

That's pretty much all. Well, gorgeous visual aside.

Let's see, you could be doing two things. Boosting or Posting Spoilers. So, which is it?
I've had my eye on it for quite some time now, but I haven't been interested enough to install EGS for it, when it comes to Steam or here I'll buy it though.
Interesting. . . has an Xcode look about it. . . looked up the company and watched a 'let's play'

It turns out they've (Zen Studios) been in the app-market for quite some time making a bunch of virtual pinball piddly-diddlies, geared toward microtransactions. . . I guess for new DLC pinball tables or something.

So, I was wondering, because I didn't watch every 'let's play' episode, is this a complete title? Or is it something you start playing. . . finish a chapter, or section, and then purchase more DLC?

No, it's a complete game. And really well done too. The combat is interesting, turn-based with a focus on different things being more or less effective on different enemy rows (close, medium, far) as well as the usual exploiting weaknesses, CC, DoTs, etc. There's a focus on using certain types of skills since they unlock powerful party attacks if you use skills of a certain type (e.g. Sun, Moon - something separate from the element of the attack). Metroidvania stuff comes into play when you find artifacts and can go to previous areas and access new areas. The dungeons aren't just endless corridors with enemies in, there are puzzles and a lot of graphical variety both between areas and within them. All voice acted, great character artwork, really evocative music (reminds me of DOS2, actually), and I'd actually say a good amount of replayability since the hero can be one of three classes, each with 3 areas of skills to focus on.

What on Earth are you talking about?

Great! Thank you for the detailed reply! Maybe I'll check it out after I finish Dark Messiah.

Are you sure that you got the description right? I don't remember any passive skills for the party. There are some "ultimates" for the party that are charged by using individual skills.

I've played long ago, so I may mistaken, but if "Children of the Wind" is such "party ultimate", than it's probably charged by "air magic" spells (including lightning) and arrow AoE attacks. Just look at the icons that show skill alignment.

I figured it out. Yeah, each party member gets a passive slot at levels 3, 6 and 9. You get more passives than that but they have to be in a slot to use. And yeah, the wind thing is related to the ultimate attack thing, wind being one of the types alongside sun, moon, etc.
I hope GOG brings it here. We'll have to wait and see. It's a bit troubling that the wishlist has only 230 votes. Come on people. Go ahead and vote :)

I don't think wishlist votes are really indicative of much these days, GOG have pretty effectively hidden the wishlist.

Which is kinda sad, the wishlist is supposed to tell GOG that people are willing to buy a game if it gets here. At least that's the case for me.
