I watched one in which some kind of black hole opened up and spat out giant diamonds that turned out to be giant spider eggs. Then the spiders grew to be as big as houses, and then the script writer must have shot himself, because I have no idea what happened afterwards, except something about a bomb.

Yeah, Boll's movies are kinda like that. Not that I'm defending him, but he has a point when he says it's not his fault to make bad adaptations, because the owners of the original IPs just throw the content away and only appear when the movie is finished. You could say a publisher's work is to sell material, but we have seen enough shitty adaptations in any medium to see Uwe Boll as some sot of "criminal against art".
