I share your pain, man! The snob in me keeps thinking how the vast majority of the people who snap it up won't ever appreciate its intricacies and influences. Or even play it :P

The last few remarks made me look up this game's info and I saw this: "The writers stated that the premise of the game is influenced by various novellas, including Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness, with Konrad replacing Kurtz. "

Now I am also in the camp of "Well...dang." It figures; most of my forum time today has been answering questions about the GA's I'm doing or entering GA's for others:P.

Death to Spies: Gold (Steam) for the first who wants it.
Spec Ops: The Line is an incredible experience. EVERYONE SHOULD PLAY IT! :D
Even if you don't like 3rd person military-themed cover-shooters. ESPECIALLY if you don't like 3rd person military-themed cover-shooters.

Indeed, it is unlike an other military shooter game out there and we probably won't get another one like it unfortunately due to its commercial failure.

Quite fortunate, actually. Not everything needs a fucking sequel!

I certainly agree, but I wasn't specifically talking about a sequel but more original meaningful games like it that aren't just entertainment but actually thought provoking as cinema is. It is sad that this game failed so publishers will use it as another excuse for not taking any risks on bigger budget games and we'll continue to see a re-skinned new iteration of the Call of Duty franchise every year.

I have the game, but have not played it yet. Might have to add it to my need to play soon list
