Generally I'm not a fan of "clones" (that is, remakes of games that use the original art assets but don't have the source code), but the Morrowind engine is so crap I don't think I really care.

So I can't reply since I'm on tablet... But damn if I had known OpenMW installer auto configures.

I guess I will have to give it a go, regular Morrowind refuses to work on my Windows 10 laptop. Maybe this will fix it.

it doesnt use the assets at all thats why you need to own and install the original game
it just improves the old engine

actually i was talking about this http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/36945/?

but i have several mods installed
better bodies
better clothes
better shadows
and open mw seems to be fine with them i didnt have to edit the ini file for any of them

it works fine with windows 7 64 but
so i assume it wil woork with windows 10 too

It's not even just an improvement, it's a completely separate engine, like Unity or another game engine. When the OpenCS is finished, it can be used to make a whole new game.

No you don't and you never had to. What you do have to do is manulally add BSA-archives to the INI. Not many mods that I've used required you to do that but Tamriel Rebuilt does.

Here's the thing, though: OpenMW allows you to use, I think, up to 255 "data files"-directories. Those you have to add to the openmw.cfg file if you want to use that feature.
There are advantages to doing that and it wasn't possible in any vanilla Bethesda game (Mod organizer does something similar, I think) but you don't have to use the feature.
