It would appear that many are experiencing issues with games loading, or platform issues
This is not only with GOG. This is happening with other platforms also
Anxiety build just prior to game loading because we are no longer able to reliably load and play a game
Just look at all the other platform forums
Maybe a World Gaming Body need to be set up so that we get to play our games without issue
Yes sometimes it is unavoidable, however many times, changes are the problem. We are then confronted with Help screen that tell us very little, or are so unhelpful, they just waste hours of our time trying to find a solution to play our game that worked perfectly well the day before
Seriously this is just madness
We appreciate the Game manufacturers and the many many hours it takes staff to produce these products for us, however what is the point , when we anxiously spend hours looking for a solution just to play our games
Honestly, internet is becoming more and more unreliable, with outages and now Solar Flares interrupting a relaxing stroll through Night City
Anyway I would love to hear what you all think
This is not only aimed at GOG , it is also other platforms and Games
We need more reliability and better solutions. Please

Rather than keep asking for solutions, it's more reliable to make one yourself.

Campaign, run for office, expand and implement your ideas. Otherwise your words that are not written in a position of power might as well not be at all.

Just a page in one's diary, then ?.

To be honest I've had no problem getting Windows games to run completely offline (and by that I mean clean Windows install, install all games and have them all work without connecting to the Internet even once). One thing I do though (which I recommend to everyone who's backed up all their game installers offline), is also backup all the common "Redistributables":-

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/does_anyone_know_the_libraries_and_other_software_required_on_a_clean_install/post4

GOG games that need them should include them, but many disc based / itch.io games do not and it's worth having them on-hand for those. It's also a good idea to keep a local backup copy of working motherboard + GPU drivers, as well as various source ports, mods, and tweak tools (eg, stuff like Borderless Gaming).

As for needing assistance with tweaking certain games, PCGamingWiki is the main resource.

Not sure what you mean by "Platform Issues" on GoG..

Buy game, download game immediately through website, put installer on NAS for future access, install at leisure.

I've not had the website fail between the time I purchased and downloaded my game, apart from that one time back around 2010 when they faked a site shutdown for a PR stunt.
