Hi, very simply: there isn't a direct way of querying for Linux games with ONLINE coop capabilities (coop as a tag isn't enough as it might mean local coop as well and that wouldn't work)... Is there a curated list of online coop games that work on linux and osx as well?

Same for mmorpgs...
I know of a mmo, but it's really more of a tinkering project.

It's StendHal RPG.

Just noticed that selecting OSX and Linux filters provides results for OSX or Linux...

I'm glad I'm not the only one... I have no idea what happened to the good online coop games outside of Steam (and even on bloody Steam...)

No idea how I haven't replied. Anyway, there are tools like Hamachi (I don't know what's popular now), that create a virtual LAN networks. Very handy for games with only a local coop.
I did an online search for any lists of Coop Linux games and the second link was to this page.

The first was a link to online Linux games but all of them were competitive.
I played Rune co-op in Linux, but that was with the Loki software release of the game. Not sure if that is possible on the GOG release of this game.
For some odd reason, Co-optimus doesn't seem to have a way to filter computer games by operating system, only to filter PC games from everything else. However, unsurprisingly, they DO have a filter specifically for online co-op, and given the site's focus, I would expect it to be much more accurate than such filters on any store. So, you could filter for that, then cross-check any results that check whatever other boxes you care about on your storefront/search engine of choice to see if those titles have non-Windows versions. Still cumbersome, unfortunately.

You should also consider asking in a fairly focused subreddit such as r/linux_gaming and/or r/macgaming.

yeah I guess I'll have to go down the reddit route after all

online and multiplayer should be two separate filters in every store tbh, as they are always misleading... be that coop or competitive or untagged completely, at least that separation should be made more obvious

GOG badly needs to overhaul all their multiplayer-related tags. They seem to mostly use their "multiplayer" tag to mean "competitive multiplayer", which is stupid and confusing.
