madth3: Any reason why the last posts have not been taken in consideration?

muntdefems: Yeah, come on little kitty, don't abandon this post please! :\
My thousand apologies, both for completely forgetting about this thread and not replying. This is what happens when I don't mark a thread as a "favourite". It won't happen again. :/

Edit: I have already partially updated the two lists (to take into account the GOG releases of Brothers and Limbo) and will comb through your suggestions tomorrow (as well as add some of mine to the list).

Alright, both lists should be good now. I'll update the GOGmix tomorrow.

Feel free to point out any game that you disagree with its inclusion in the list (like a point and click that's not easy).

Thanks! :)

Two things:

1) Unfortunately, Pony Island is no longer on GOG, you should probably move it to the other post.

2) I see you haven't included neither Epistory nor Dog Mendonça. I'm quite OK with not including the former (even though HLTB says it can be beaten in just 5h) because I'd strongly advise against rushing it. On the other hand I must insist about including Dog Mendonça & Pizzaboy as it really is very short and quite easy (there's only one entry on HLTB, but it reports a little over 4h, more or less the same as it took me to beat it).

Right-o, I forgot about it. Now, it's removed. Thanks for the reminder.

Now, that's strange. I'm pretty sure that I included both. Did I hit the limit? Let me give it one more shot...

Edit: Yup, I hit the limit. Time to divide the GOG list.

It's still available on the Humble Store and on Steam, so it could be included in the second post.

You probably hit the limit (10,000 characters), yep. You could either shorten URLs with TinyURL (or any other similar service), or divide the list into two posts.

EDIT: Never mind, I just saw your edit. :P

Already done.

Since I have reserved posts, I divided the list. I prefer it over URL shorteners, which you have no idea what site you're going to visit beforehands...

Edit: OK, I now added both games. If there is any objection to their inclusion, feel free to bring it up.

Long Live the Queen

Not sure if you want to include it. It can be beaten in only a few hours. Far more likely though, is that you'll die first. And, you'll die many, many times before you beat it.

It is a game that I play when I don't have a lot of time, because I know that my playthrough isn't going to last more than a few hours.

I don't think I will be adding it. As I said in the first post, the list should include games that you have a resonable chance to complete them the first time you touch them within a short time.

In that case some other stuff on the list is debatable as well. Spelunky for example is a very hard game. Of course you can complete it in some hours, but most people won't even make it through the first temple in that time.

Same goes for some of the adventure games. How many people will complete Beneath a Steel Sky, Machinarium or even Teen Agent in a few hours without using a walkthrough? I'm not bad at adventure games, but normally I'm stuck at one point or another and it will take some time to find the solution.

Since I haven't completed those games, I'm more than willing to remove any such offenders. Do mention any other games that come to mind.

I can of course only speak for myself, but I'm quite skeptical about the following games:

· Anomaly 1, Anomaly 2, Anomaly Defenders: I haven't beaten any of them but I've spent way more than 5h with each
· Hotline Miami: Beaten it not long ago, but it took me at least 10h
· The Last Door: Beating it in under 5h means spending less than 1h15min per chapter (highly unlikely on a first playthrough without a walkthrough)
· The Swapper: same as with the Anomaly games
· Tower of Guns: once you've mastered the game I assume you can beat it in a very short time, but surely it must take more than 5h to 'git gud' at it, right?
· Eldritch: idem

Those are actually my inclusions and I can vouch that each one of the five installments in the series took me about 5 hours. If someone else disagrees, though, I will remove them from the list.

OK then, I'll remove those games from the list.

IAmSinistar (who originally added the game to the list)) said that it took him about 4-4.5 hours to complete the game.

In that case I honestly admire you. I'm so bloody terrible at those games (not so much at Defenders) I cannot imagine beating them in a few hours.

I guess first-person roguelikes are not my strong suit either. :P
GOG game 'Crimsonland' is an excellent one-day game.
6 Chapters, 10 levels per.
I have 8.5 hours clocked on Steam, finishing it twice on different difficulties, as well as dabbling with the awesome 'one-and-done' scoring game modes like Nukefism (no guns, only power-ups) and Type-O-Shooter (type out words to kill incoming enemies).

I disagree. The game is really easy and rather short. I beat it on the first run in 4h. Without a walkthrough, of course.
