I think moon conspiracy is nonsense.
The only thing I thought could have foundation (that of the flag that moves without wind), was explained extensively (there were 2 flagstaff
you can see clearly in this photo).

To doubt everything is fine, but we must not doubt at the cost of being ridiculous. You can say "I don't believe that the landing on the moon has happened", but without inventing absurd explanations.

If you do not believe that the landing has taken place go to the moon and check, this is what makes a real scientist all the others are conspiracy theorists and spread fake news.

Conspiracy theorists are fine in Deus Ex, I don't like them in real life.

I don't know where you want to go. But inventing fairy tales and saying that they are true is not the most intelligent thing a person can say.
Also because the world is full of uneducated people who are unable to distinguish fake news from true news.
(I don't want to blame anyone, education is not always guaranteed to everyone, unfortunately).
Problem is there are also lot's of educated people that try to spread fake news for profit (for example to sell books, or, with the fake news about milk, to sell vegetal products, or something like that) or for simple stupidity.

It is everyone's responsibility to try to spread only verified information.
I understand that going to the moon to check if there is a flag is not simple, but it makes no sense to question an achievement if you are not an astronaut able to support your theses.

Not everyone can prove everything, only really great people with great skills can prove something like that.
We normal people have to content ourselves with believing what we are told by those who know what they are saying, the presumption of being competent in everything is the presumption of the ignorant.

I'm not an astronaut... I'm a developer. I'm competent when I talk about software, but I'm ignorant when I'm talking about landing on the moon. But since I know that I'm ignorant in that field I can learn by listen to people that know what they are doing.
Not sure if an astronaut is also a great developer but let's suppose the astronaut don't know how to develop an application, in that field he/she should listen to me.
A little trust is needed to learn, otherwise we should also doubt what we are taught in elementary school. Doubting is right, curiosity is necessary to understand how things work and if things are as they seem, but there is a difference between doubt in order to seek the truth and doubt by being content with believing in the words of some guru.

Science is not for everyone, science is for people that study and try in first person.

I believe someone offered a flat-earther/moon hoax believer a chance to go into space via them funding it and they turned it down.....that may be true or not, but imo I doubt any such person would take chance to get disproven and would make any excuse NOT to go into space and be shown to be wrong or have their house of cards collapse in front of them.

Indeed lots of people believe what they want to believe, and see what they want to see, and will be oblivious even to the strongest of proof.

ConsulCaesar: In high school I had a Physics teacher who didn't question that the moon landing did happen. However, he believed that the footage had been pre-recorded by NASA in a film studio in case anything went wrong during the mission, and since the result was so good it was broadcast anyway, as it was better-looking than anything they could get real-time. His reasoning was that the flag and the shadows didn't look right. Crazy, just not too much. ;)
actually, I find this pretty believable - staged footage made on Earth and broadcasted instead of real Moon footage answers many questions yet doesn't disprove Moon landings in general, which also have more solid proofs. (=

I'm not arguing with your point in general, but I think this kind of logic is fallacious. unmanned craft made it to Saturn, to 67P comet and even beyond Solar System. so those manned expeditions were possible as well?

I did not insult anyone. I have merely stated the obvious. Since you want the trolls to "stay under bridges", (what a cheezy statement by the way) you should practice what you preach. That rep of yours dropped faster than Palestinian children smited by the Israeli hand.

Now, do write down a paragraph about possible Moon landing hoax, as requested by the op. Lol.
avatar
GameRager: "A wall of text for 3 games on a giveaway, plus requested paragraphs about Moon landing. Lol."

That is what you said, and to me(and others it would seem seeing you got low rated) it seems trolling in it's tone and what it says. Not once did you say kind things like "Nice contest" "+1" "good giveaway" etc...
You are not going to force me to write something I do not stand for. Nor do I feel obliged to write that down so you can feel better.

avatar
GameRager: ...you just LOLd and complained about the number of paragraphs. While not too bad it is still not totally good or innocent either.
It is not yours to judge wether it was bad or good, that was a statement, and opinion.

avatar
GameRager: Also please leave unwarranted personal insults out of this. I have done so(I only complained about the trollish comment you posted) and I request you have the decency to do the same.
Again playing the victim card with made-up imaginary attacks on your fragile personality. It makes you look so immature. Not that you were mature in the first place.

I agree with you here. Life support is a huge variable that could potentially alter outcomes.

Because of one simple fact: We cannot support life for the amount of time it would take to get to those spots and then bring them back....or at least not easily.

It's called being civil...maybe try it sometime? And no one is ordering you, they were merely suggestions.

Anyone can and will/does judge whatever they want, even without qualifications....though tbh how hard is it to read bad/good intent in certain phrases?

That last bit is definitely a personal insult.....frankly at this point i'm tempted to just post a crybaby gif/pic to every post you make to me as you don't seem to want to see eye to eye with me on anything & just like to make things personal.

I haven't seen this much controversy over space since No Man's Sky. Or Mass Effect Andromeda. Or Star Wars Battlefront 2. Actually, what is it with space and controversy? Can't we all agree that space is beautiful?

Harsh words coming from the forum "pacifist". Again, sheer hypocrisy.

You are lurking this forum just to find things you deem to be offensive/personal attacks in your opinion. How about you stop replying to me, so our discussions won't appear "close and personal"... logic, isn't it. You stop replying to me, I won't be replying to your replies. You have started this thing here... once again. Stop stalking me already.
Thanks for this new giveaway, man! I'm actually interested in the Star Wolves games (which I assume that's what you meant when you said Space Wolves), so I'm going to enter for those.

As for the moon landing: Well, I really think it was real because, I honestly just never had a reason not to believe it... XD

I am being civil.....I haven't resorted to name calling or insults for the most part, and am trying to be civil here.

I play devil's advocate and side with some here who I feel are being mistreated, yes, but I also add constructive replies to thread on gaming/forum games/etc....all without doing any of that that you mentioned.

Also how am I stalking you? I am replying to you in ONE thread.....for a few replies.....and you call THAT stalking?

smh

Look, after this(at least in this thread) I will be "ignoring" your replies.....feel free to reply but if they are solely non-constructive insults I will just downrate and move on.

You have said this many times by now. You obviously have many issues. One of them being attention-seeking... you know the rest.
