I keep thinking of "Ready Player One".

Pretty soon we'll all be able to go into any cafe and log into a full immersion suit. I can't wait!

Back in the 1980's, FASA had some Battletech booths. We had some scheduled for an in store science fiction event for my Waldenbooks but the district manager stepped in the day before hand and cancelled everything even though we had mall and corporate approval.

A few still exist I believe:

That's the 2nd time you've posted that pic and I still say the Floyd poster makes the room. It's beyond beautiful.
I got me an old AMD Athlon II 620 Quad Core with 6GB of DDR2 and a Gigabyte GTX 750ti 2GB. It shows it's age but so does my interest in the current gaming landscape so i dont mind.
CPU: Pentium G3440 (3.3 GHz dual-core) [3 y/o]
No dedicated GPU, using the CPU's integrated one
RAM: 4 GB DDR3 1600 MHz 9-9-9-24 [3 y/o]
HDD: WD Black 500 Gb + WD VelociRaptor (10k rpm) 250 Gb [5 y/o]
MB: ASRock Fatal1ty B85 Killer (Intel B85, Realtek ALC1150 audio, Qualcomm Atheros Killer E2200 LAN) [3 y/o]
Monitor: Philips 190S7FS (19", 1280x1024, 8ms) [11 y/o]
DVD: Sony Optiarc AD-7261S [6.5 y/o]
TV tuner: Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP Expert [13.5 y/o]
KB: Marvo KG805 [1 y/o]
Mouse: Roccat Kone AIMO [2 months old, bought opened, using without software running since running that'd mean constant monitoring and CPU use] + Acme MS04 [1 y/o, as a spare]
Pad: Func Surface 1030 (25x21.5 cm, used on the smooth side) [8.5 y/o]
Headphones: SteelSeries 3H VR [8 y/o]
PSU: Seasonic G Series 360 [3 y/o]
Case: Corsair Volant White [3 y/o]
Fans: Noctua NF-P12 + Noctua NF-P12 PWM [5 y/o, forgot which is front and which is side] + case's rear fan [3 y/o]
UPS: APC Back-UPS ES 700 VA [3.5 y/o]
OS: Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit

Did I miss anything? Ah, the speakers, some Philips 2.1, but very rarely use those and not when I play, and forgot when I got them.

I have a desktop i7-3770 that I got an excellent Black Friday deal on, and over the years, have added on a Sound Blaster Z, SSD, and finally a Radeon RX 460. I mostly play only indie games and stuff that came out in 2016 or earlier, so this set-up works great for me and I expect to keep it in unchanged for another 2 to 3 years.

On a more serious note (than before), it depends for me. Currently I have 3 gaming choices.

Mac mini ('14) - i5 2.6 Ghz, Intel Iris 5100, 8GB RAM, 1TB 5200RPM HDD
Surprisingly I get a lot of play time with this little box. A lot of indie/casual titles as well as a good amount of classics thanks to Wine. It's also my goto box for emulated (older) console games due to the fantastic OpenEmu. -- Sidenote: I find macOS to be much easier and more satisfying to use than Windows.

Winbox - i7 3.4Ghz, NVIDIA GTX 1070, 16GB RAM, 1TB 7200RPM HDD
For those WIn-only games and those that require real hardware power. Of late I might just call it my Overwatch machine because that's what I mostly play on it.

Nintendo 3DS XL - ?
The varying DS line is still my favorite gaming device from Nintendo. I would love to see another Advance Wars game, as that is my favorite Nintendo gaming series.

I had a friend who overclocked that cpu to 5ghz... I never seen something have so much single thread power in my life. it wrecked my 3770k at the time in a lot of older things through the roof.
