Ah, I think I was only talking about r/gog or whatever.
Though my point still stands, I really do think we're the only, or at least main, source of complaining that GOG ever gets.

Galaxy has its place and it does its job like it should. since they added in the location based downloads that has helped make it streamlined a bit more. The downloader was nice because of the que feature, that said you can do that with galaxy too.

As for 3rd party tools I exclusively use gogrepo.py myself as it helps maintain my large collection of games. I wish I didn't have to... I wish Galaxy did a checksum verification but it doesn't yet...

That said, they still provide all games with what they promised long ago. A list of supported systems and requirements that when met, the game works fine. Developers and Publishers are seeing GOG and realizing this is how it should be... more and more are stripping out DRM on steam and other platforms or choosing a self releasing model that's DRMfree.

GOG is and has served its purpose, my grips are from my own laziness... I can easily verify all my stuff, but I'm lazy.... I could organize all my games and write little notes in the folders about patches and included files but.... I’m lazy...

I would be remiss if I didn't say I still fully support their mission and what they are doing... I have gripes, I feel slighted at times but.... in the end GOG has answered and made right every issue I have ever had.

How can I complain about a company that has done that for me?

also you have to include everyone has different ideas like what TFISHELL said if you put 100 people in the box and told to pick a number between 1-30 not everyone is going to pick the same number

This reminds me of minecraft people hated the idea of notch selling it but in the end we get cross play across all system would this idea still be here if notch still owned the company maybe,. probably not

Also there is always going to be more complaining post then thank you post that's natural because when something goes wrong or you don't like it, you reply with a complaint BUT if you like something not every says thank you or this is great this is why you always see more negative then positive comments

as long as gog keeps selling the game installers without the client needed then I consider it's DRMfree and the downloader and Galaxy is still a option

although Galaxy is used for multiplayer instead of having to use Peer-to-Peer but then i read a little more peer

I agree that GOG is going in the wrong direction with Galaxy. I was already skeptical of Galaxy when I first heard about it. The whole reason I use GOG is to get away from mandatory clients.

Galaxy was supposed to be optional, but nowadays GOG users are forced to jump through more hoops just to get a Galaxy-less installer. Plus, there is no way to set the Game Shelf to only show the "classic" installers by default. I wonder what the GOG of 2008 would say to the GOG of today...

Hear hear, Nix31. Couldn't have said it better myself. The other thing that rubs me wrong way, and seems very unGOGish, is continuing to sell games that don't get updated when they are on Steam. (A week or two delay is ok, a month or more is not.) Armello was a prime example.

It does you click the down arrow on the shelf icon and then view downloads then every download there actually downloads the file... there is only a blue box that says "Try Gog Galaxy" but they default to old fashioned files. These were the same steps needed for the old downloader to work.

No. This is only true for games that don't have Galaxy-infested installers yet. For those who already do, the "GOG Galaxy Game installers" are the default ones shown and you do need to go into the "More" dropdown list to choose "Classic installers" if you want those. Also, that choice does not stick then. Next time you'll open that game's download window, it's back to the default Galaxy installers.

And on top of that.. if you have a Galaxy installer if you just hit install, Galaxy will be installed.
The text in the window I consider "misleading".

It's been pointed out already that you're mistaken, but if you want to see this behaviour firsthand, just check this list of games that are now Galaxy-laden, then go to your library and check out any of those games that you may own. You'll see what people are talking about.
