Ok so I'm a fan of games in this genre. To be more specific, i'm talking about 2d side scrollers. Any suggestions or link to a list of the ones available on GOG.

In addition to the catalog, folks have done their own lists with mini reviews as well:

Off the top of my head:
Bio Menace
Hocus Pocus
Realms of Chaos

Jazz Jackrabbit
The Jungle Book
The Lion King
Aladdin
Titus the Fox
Rayman Forever
Prehistorik
Dangerous Dave
Secret Agent
Crystal Caves
Earthworm Jim
Monster Bash
Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure
To be honest, nothing before the era of Commander Keen is really worth playing, in my opinion.

Thankfully, GOG has Rayman and other things.
Suggestions? How about Another World?

Sadly gog does not have Flashback.

It's a shame you are too late to pick up the Duke Nukem 2D platformers here. Those were pretty sweet. Among those currently available on GOG, I really like Realms of Chaos.

One game that should be on GOG but isn't is Abuse. Some dude made an anniversary edition that allows it to work in modern resolutions, it's pretty awesome. You can read all about it here.
In addition to the aforementioned titles, also check out Alien Rampage:

Gex is DOS platformer, right?

Jill Of The Jungle :)

To the original poster check out Apogee they had lots of awesome platformers back in the day.
There was an old Duck Tales platformer for PC from back in the day that I thought was really cool (from memory it had jungle stages and mountain stages and some other things and you had to get more gold than the bad guy (who's name I forget)
