I have tried searching the forums, but I can't seem to find anything.

What's the story on several Microids and/or Anuman older games not being on GOG?

Especially Return to Mysterious Island 2 - you have the first, why not the second? -, Paradise, Sinking Island - you have the other Benoit Sokal games, why not these two? - & Necronomicon: the Dawning of Darkness - you have the Dracula games made on the same engine, why not this one?

Is there a particular reason why they're not here? Will they ever be here? Again, what's the story?
Ask them. :)

GOG very rarely comments on upcoming non-day 1 releases so, no, there is nothing official about why Anuman games or others that are available on other stores DRM-free (like Elven Legacy or Just Cause) aren't here yet. Judas also offers an explanation as to why they don't do so: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/games_that_are_unofficially_confirmed_for_release_in_the_future_part_2/post1750

It's quite odd, because the old releases have been quite a few years ago, and they are getting new releases.

I would understand if they weren't getting any of the new stuff, but it just makes no sense. Necronomicon, Sinking Island & Paradise are all running well on Windows 10 in my computer, so I don't imagine that it's because GOG can't get them to run.

It's just weird.

I don't want to buy Mysterious Island 2 on Steam, I hate breaking up my collections like that. It's mildly frustrating.
I'd really love to see here Louvre, the final curse. Or whatever its name is, it seems to be known as the messenger too.

Running well on one computer is no guarantee that they will run well on another computer. For instance, Impossible Creatures is supposed to be running well on Windows 7 64 bit and I haven't heard stories that indicated otherwise, but I have had no luck running the game on my PC (Windows 7 64 bit) so far.

The good thing about the majority of Anuman games, though, is that they are available on other DRM-free stores, as well. For instance, you can find DRM-free versions of Return to Mysterious Island 2 on FireFlower Games and WinGameStore.

Well, I know that. Both of the things you said.

But what I meant is, they run great without any compatibility boxes checked. All games have a probability of not running on other computers, but these don't strike me as being difficult at all to get running on modern OS.

As for the other stores, no thank you. While I don't like relying on only one service, having Steam & GOG is good enough for me. I don't want to have games bought in dozens of sites.

It's embarrassing enough to see a game on sale here on GOG, going to purchase it & realise I already own it. I can't keep track of one library & I have two. More is an invitation for disaster.

Probably, probably not. I don't have any of the aforementioned games, so I can't personally give an answer.

OK, I understand your position. If you really want to buy Return to the Mysterious Island 2, I would recommend you to buy it on Steam, as it could be a long time before it gets released here. I mean, hey, it did work with Munch's Oddysee. It's still not on GOG. :P

I'll bet GOG already has Munch's Odyssee, they're just not releasing it because they don't want me to be right.

And now you know if you twist things enough in a manner that noone can prove you're wrong, you can sort of alter your & other people's perceptions of reality. Reality is play-doh in the hands of the wise.

I've tried contacting them through their page, let's see how it goes. I know better than to wait for a reply from GOG, now. ;p
Why ask GOG when you can ask Microids/Anuman? For example Return to Mysterious Island 2 is published on Steam and not on GOG, isn't that then a decision/choice of Microids/Anuman?

I did, I said so in the last line of the last post I made in this thread. Just above yours.
Maybe GOG rejected them because they don't expect them to sell well.

That would make sense... but why not have at least the second in a series? That's what's so weird about this situation.

They're to niche for GOG. That's the go(g) to statement to reject games.
Sometimes they release the first one, and if it doesn't work out just stop. They did that with Cryo's Dragon Lore. And they didn't release the second one nor any other Cryo adventure.

That makes some sense, thanks.

I didn't know Dragon Lore had a sequel! That's another one we need, then. Or not, who knows...
