HunchBluntley: Also: what, exactly, is "a raptr"?
this.
gOg are not perfect, but my own business isn't perfect, either. The key is to try to get a little bit better whenever you can. I could pick nits but I think they do a good job given a bunch of factors:

- publisher whims
- developer whims
- sticking to DRM-free as much as possible (some could argue the multiplayer stuff) when it's a fairly complicated topic
- worldwide customer base
- multiple operating systems requiring more support resources
- sale pricing
- working in a marketplace dominated by one retailer

And more. It's complicated, and I think they manage to do the core stuff well: acquire quality games for the catalog, do their best to massage them to get them working well for as many customers as possible, provide a reliable download service, and support what they sell.

bredy12: Yea but its still better than Steam
Very much so, in many ways. The simple fact that you can take a game and install it without having to haul your entire computer over to somewhere with an Internet connection is a huge plus for me.

Ah, thank you. His post makes so much more sense now!
...Wait, no, what's the word that means the opposite of more? I always get them mixed up. :P

Nope, I think you've got it in the right order. :-P

You really should start a punning/lame humo(u)r thread, you know.
Alas, my own rapier wit is too dull to cross blades with one such as you. :P

Azhdar: And it seems GOG rejected Axiom Verge, 700+ votes on community wishlist and top-rated Metroidvania.

GOG's "too niche"ism is strange.
Do you actually have a source for this? Because the guy in the thread you linked didn't provide one. Let's not spread misinformation.

Axiom Verge was released in March 2015. Developers said they had a plan to release GOG version (See & [url=https://steamcommunity.com/app/332200/discussions/0/617335934132249576/#c617335934132290276]2). Several months passed and there is no AV on GOG. So what happened? They want to release GOG version in 2016, just like Xbox One version?

Couldn't have said it better myself.

They retained my business for about 5 years now and as far as businesses are concerned, I'm not one for sentimental loyalty (seriously, I've looked at a couple of alternatives over the years, but I've yet to find better).
GOG is pretty awesome. Its a bit sad that several pubs still chicken out with their newer or previous steam exclusives as if their would be a second income rush (hint, there wont, need to expand elsewhere) but they are gaining field :)

Tarm: GOG for president!

What? There are nothing more political than dealing in wishes and promises.

sunshinecorp: That's exactly what the wishlist entries are. A way to capitalize on what people want. GOG gets stuff, see who's wishlisted it, and then goes on to say "see? WE GOT THAT FOR YOU!". Only it isn't exactly like that. GOG gets what GOG can get and what would be profitable for GOG to get, then looks at the wishlist and says "WE GOT THAT FOR YOU!". Not that I'm complaining. I love GOG and the games on it. Most of them. And I'm certain some of the games I'm wishing for will eventually arrive on GOG. But not because of the wishlist.
I'm sure its a bit of both. If they strike a deal that accidentally includes a WL entry they sure say "hey look here". But I'm sure that if they have equal effort to fulfill either a 10k+ votes wishlist entry or something else the wishlisted item probably wins out.

Also I expect them to mail Bethesda & Voilition/Kochmedia at least twice a day about their missing games here compared to whomever hold the rights to the Brad Stallion trilogy of which I expect them to not contact whatsoever (unless its Bethesda of course :P ).

Dunno. Ask the developer? That might be a better approach than just cooking up rumors.

I may contact them, but let's wait & see. Maybe the developer wants to release it in this month.
yeah ..., it would be great if gog would start to pay a guy who's only job would be to delete all gog praising threads instantly
