Here's the trailer.

Now personally, I think the place and time for Postal is much like that of Duke Nukem or Redneck Rampage. The past.

I know some of you are going to be clamoring for the game here, but I'm not so sure the devs are deserving of passing though the gauntlet of curation considering how the developers largely treated GOG as a second rate place.
Postal is great. Postal 2 was awesome. There was a Postal 3? Apparently it really sucked. is the by the visionaries who did the first two or the less talented group trying to cash in on a name with the third?

as far I know the 3rd was made by the exactly same people as the first two games. It also was, to my knowledge, beyond salvation bad.

It wasn't, it was made by Akella (sorry, published by - it was developed by TrashMasters) - Running With Scissors consistently dump on it for how bad it is and have all but distanced themselves from it entirely (at one point - possibly even still happening to this day - they were giving away Steam keys for it through Twitter because it's trash that no one should willingly pay for).

Text interview with RWS, PIII is talked about
We don't even want to get paid for POSTAL III at this point, the game is a broken mess and should not be sold. We stopped selling the game ourselves some time ago when it became apparent that neither us or the community would get the SDK tools. We don't regard it as the third POSTAL game, just a dodgy spin off that should never have happened.

Meh .

Looks like a cheap GTA mod . Can't the developers let the series rest in peace ?
Can't wait to see journalists review this game, it's going to be a grand sight and i'll be sure to enjoy every moment of it.

I couldn't help but laugh at this, perfect thank you.

A new Postal game is long overdue. Looking forward to follow Postal IV's development.

Postal III was their only game before they folded and were absorbed into whatever entity in Russia houses colossal failure (Putin's scrotum? I dunno...) so I guess the choice of studio title is fitting, unless everyone who's ever slapped turds onto Steam in the past decade or so decides to band together and battle it out for the crown and namesake.
Oh yeah, it´s time again...

The humor and styling, mostly. Redneck Rampage is especially peak 90s, while Postal is just what a shock jock on the radio would have said just to try and rile you up.

there was new Redneck Rampage game recently?

Not since 1997.

That was already implied with the games you mentioned. My question was: Why do games with that kind of style and humor only have a place in the past?

You might consider Immortal Redneck to be the progression of it into the modern state of gaming.

Because Interplay apparently can't sell off the IP to save its life and even if it could, I question whether any developer could make a new entry in that series "work" without making some pretty big changes to it (similar to what Flying Wild Hog did with Shadow Warrior).
