It's great to have a collection of DRM-free games, but your "database" still requires you to log in (=DRM).
So a while ago I decided to make my own, using Collectorz Game Collector.
I've put a lot of time and effort into it and now I'd like to share it with you...

So why would anyone want a database of MY Game collection?
- You already have a collectorz database and want to merge/replace it with the games we have in common.
- Use it as a starting point to make your own.

What does it contain?
- Format: Game Collector v16(.3.1)
- Almost 400 GOG games (+All my boxed games and a few Steam games - you can delete anything you don't have yourself)
- Basic information, like Title, Series, sorting title, year, developer, etc.
- The description from each GOG page, or from Moby if the game is part of a pack.
- Big cover, cut out from gogcovers.com or mobygames.com/
- Links to the GOG page and Mobygames
- Link to the installer - can be mass updated in the program
- Link to the best youtube trailer/intro I could find
- Link to a youtube review - IGN/Gamespot/Gametrailers - if it exists (so mostly/only for relatively newer games)

Anyone interested? And where should I upload it (it's about 400 Mb - because of the cover files) I'm thinking Google Drive...

Note:
- It isn't 100% ready yet - some moby links, installer links, and trailers are still missing. But I'll update it when it is.
- All links to covers can be mass updated to wherever you'd like to store them.
I've also downloaded all the youtube trailers and reviews to mp4 files. Let me know if you want a guide on how to do that (All of them at once).

Interesting concept for a thread. I too have a game collectorz database setup and it's a PITA to maintain as I add to it almost daily. (Wishing the developers incorporate a sync function to upload from online retailer purchase libraries)

I'll definitely favorite this thread. My GOG covers come from GOG themselves, when available, which gives it a clean/uniform look.

...hmmm, thinking out loud, maybe we could pool resources ;-)

Are you sure that site still "exists"? All those links just point to advertisements... Especially sync to mobygames - that would've saved me a lot of time. But they have their own library - uploaded by users, and it's often very incomplete. And most of the covers are too small for my liking.
Right now, I'd love to have a "moby-sync" for screenshots. I'd like to add some, but it'll be a lot of work to add them manually.
http://www.gogcovers.com/ has a lot of covers... but at least 30% of my games aren't on it.

gog covers is great if you're printing covers for a physical collection. I grab my images from the gog library page via Adalia Fundamentals. A great tool. Attaching a screenshot with Adalia add-on loaded.

Can you see your games library on an offline computer? Will it still be available if GOG goes the way of the dodo? Explain to me how I am wrong. "no no no" is not a valid explanation.

At that point we might aswell drop the pretense of calling GOG a DRM free store then.

You have a digital distribution service that sells games, in order to sell said games you need a account, you make a account to access said system, it offers various functionalities, among the functionalities there is a library system, it is quite simple and listen your games that are owned by the account that you made in order to make purchases on the digital store.

How is that DRM?

It is a digital store, you make a account to purchase games, games that once purchased is yours to keep and do whatever you want to do. Having a offline function to access the account and library service has nothing to do with your rights of said games, it is merely a function that the store doesn't provide.

Now imagine if anyone has access to the data without any credentials. Not that secure is it?

I didn't say that the games are less DRM-free because the library isn't.

What data? Why should the/your library (=not the games itself but the information about them) be secure? You can view it in your browser - why shouldn't you be able to export it to a different format, or have an API?
Yes, I can see that it would be an extra expense for GOG to provide that functionality. But I'm just saying that it's a form of DRM if they don't. DRM on the library that is, not on the games themselves.
And I know, we get the online library for free. I'm not debating the right or wrong about it - just that it's a form of DRM - they're restricting the usage of a (free) service/product - that's all!

They aren't restricting usage of your library offline, they aren't offering it, that's the point.

It's the same argument that people use against server based Multiplayer. If are not LAN people jump on the "IT'S DRM" train.

It isn't, they aren't managing your rights/verifying your rights to play a game or not, or in this case, accessing your library offline. They aren't providing you the service that you want.
Call that a form of alienation or control by devs of publishers, but from the moment you buy a game with no LAN function, your rights aren't being managed just because "X" function isn't there.

Again, seeing your library offline isn't something that GOG offers, this doesn't make your library "DRM'ed".
They aren't managing your rights to access the library, they are just using a web based account system for that. And fair enough, that itself can bring known security hurdles and yes perhaps you could import that to another format, API and what not.

But then again, they aren't offering/doing it.

YOU on the other hand is kind of offering something like that. And just to reiterate, it is great.

So if offline game Y requires an online account to play offline; company Z can just claim that the functionality to play without an online account just isn't there. Voila, it's not DRM anymore! They should hire you to do their PR!

I wasn't going to add the movie files - that would be a huge download! Just the youtube url's...
