SLP2000: Awesome year for all isometric crpgs fans.
<3 Kickstarter

I only wish I hadn't backed so many projects. I feel bad that I had to cancel my Planetary Annihilation pledge. I simply can't afford it.
Seeing as they've revealed next to nothing about the game itself, I'm going to hold on against pledging for now. All we really know, is that it's a fantasy RPG and the makers are responsible for many classic games. I know and respect that's enough for some, but me, I like to know what exactly am I buying.

Yep, I'm also doing some prioritising now, since I decided not to back some adventure games (Moebius, Two Guys, Jack Houston, Quest for Infamy, Project Fedora) and Carmageddon. And Planetary Annihilation lately.

I'll grab all of them later, preferably on GOG, but now I'm supporting crpgs in the first place. (wondering about Arakion atm).

Not sure what to do with Broken Sword.
In like Flynn.

I just hope that they try something a bit more out of the box in regards to the races that populate the world.

Instead of simply doing your generic "elves/dwarves/orcs" fantasy races have more mythological fantasy races/creatures. Things like Minotaurs, werewolves, centaurs, Satyr, , etc.

I'd love to have a game where you didn't have to play as your usual human/elf/dwarf/orc races.

I guess you should have a look at Arakion ;)
There's a human, ent, satyr and A TURTLE there =)

Aye, I definitely agree. I'm sure Obsidian can do good things with straight fantasy, especially if they play with the tropes like in Arcanum, but unique fantasy wins out for me.

Incidentally, I think I'm more optimistic than the people who said they won't pledge till they see more. My reasoning is, I think it's probably gonna be good so I pledge, but if I don't like what I see I can always withdraw.
This has to be my first Kickstarter no-brainer.

To be honest, between Dishonored, Deus Ex, Shadowrun, Wasteland. Witcher 2 (dark fantasy) and Fallout and Cyberpunk, there aren't many new non-dark fantasy rpgs (released or in production). Only Skyrim.

So pure fantasy rpg could be not a bad idea.
Aargh. I really hope they decide to give an option for DRM-free download for the backers.

Except that it has been done to fucking death.

Hm, true. I'd actually really like to see a bit more of a "fairy tale" feel, kinda like The Longest Journey. Where instead of elves and dwarves and such you have animal people and cottages and that sort of thing. It'd stay locked into the whole fantasy thing, but it'd have a bit more identity as well.
I will most probably make a pledge IF/when a DRM-free version is announced, but still it's getting kind of weird, is everybody even well established devs going to start their own kickstarter ?(I wouldn't be surprised to see sometime soon a Infinity Ward or a Blizzard Kickstarter)
Instabacked. Will need to check the pitch later on.

I backed about an hour ago, and I haven't even checked the video yet. Didn't see the need to :D
RTwP?
Thank you Obsidian, there's the door. I'm hardly interested anymore. The combat in Infinity Engine-based games was TERRIBLE. ToEE showed how it should be done.

Pitch this game to EA, they'll gladly fund it.
