DreadMoth: Strangely, I found Demogorgon easier to beat than the demons guarding the last seal before his level.
haha :D I don't remember that much, but I remember Demogorgon summoning some pretty nasty demons, and they were more difficult than demogorgon himself.

The same was with final battle with Irenicus for me - the demons he summoned were more deadly than him.

Elmofongo: is he the one with the powerful scimitars?
avatar
Crosmando: Yeah, near the Lake
Darn it I think he left never to be seen again when I helped him from monsters I think :(
avatar
Crosmando: You didn't even kill Drizzt to loot his cool gear?
Nope, I roleplayed a "good" character and party in all 5 replays over the years. Also a Monk in all 5 replays. Probably gonna replay again using Kensai/Mage.
Too much of a temptation for me, same with killing the quest givers for xp after I finished the quest for them

keeveek: Demogorgon was relatively easy compared to Kangaxx, god fucking dammit that demilich... OF course there are people who defeat him solo, but well...

Demogorgon can be easier if you decide to visit the tower for the first time when you are leveled up, of course. Using highest level spells etc etc.

I can imagine him being a pain in the ass if you're coming for him mid-game.
Nope, I'm very high level when fighting Demogorgon, I had the Comet, Solar summoning and Dragon Breath spells on my mages, except that most spells don't work on him, since he has that blasted 90%+ Magic Resist. Time Stop doesn't seem to work either. And he summons those highlevel demons over and over.

Kangaxx is an ass, he banished my whole party into oblivion. I can't really rmb how, but I won him without losing anyone, immunity to magic probably or something like that.Took shitload of reloads though.

I used Sarevok in TOB though if it matters, he randomly hits for 200 dmg flat if you're lucky. But it doesn't seem to proc on the hard mobs or big bosses.

My best sword was probably Carsomyr + 6, thing is I didn't use Keldorn.

Maybe Pierce Magic or Pierce Shield would help? Put 3 Pierce Magic in a Spell Trigger to use them quickly :)

Sounds like Imprison or Maze (can't remember if entire party getting Mazed is game over or not - if the main character is Imprisoned it's instant game over, IIRC).

There's a consumable item throughout the keep that allows you to lower his magic resist for a short period of time. 3x Horrid Wilting normally does go through and does the damage.

Phaidox: I'm getting some ToEE vibes from that screenshot - it's such a shame Obsidian opted for a RtwP combat system instead of a turn-based one. Sigh.
I must be in the minority that prefer the RTwP over Turn-Based. Turn-Based just takes too long to play through. RTwP if done correctly, like BG Series is just so much more fun to play.

This was Cadegund's first artwork, they changed after many people complained about the boob armor: https://s3.amazonaws.com/ksr/projects/289461/posts/317536/image-163777-full.jpg?1348795914

I prefer RTwP too, but nothing against TB if well-maded

I like both systems and find that they provide equally tactical and enjoyable experiences

I personnaly don't mind boob armor in a fantasy setting where genre equality is granted .....

But I'm definitely against an armor that structurally changes depending on the wearer. A guy should be able to wear female armor ... as long as he doesn't mind some malus .... and the same in the other way.

What's the issue with boob-armor? I don't have a problem with it, but I am a guy.

The funny part is, battle in Baldur's Gate etc etc is pretty much turn based but simulates as a real combat. If you keep attention to the game log, you'll see that you are attacking every turn or so, depending on your stats.

This is why sometimes you have to wait a little while before casting another spell - the hero is waiting for another round.

Not to mention, active pause made it very much turn based game for me as well.
I thought everyone knew this? Every 6 seconds is a standard turn

EDIT: The problem with PE is that I don't think it's going to be using rounds, it's gonna be pure real-time, thus my concern
