Crosmando: snip
I think I know from where all that your shitposting is coming from. And the answer isn't good for you.
avatar
keeveek: Oh god, there still are living people who coudln't get around combat in BG2 or IWD2? Funny. As for ToEE, because of the turn based system, even medium scale battles could dragon on and on and on.
avatar
Crosmando: Sprouting memes isn't funny anymore bro. And if you thought ToEE had slow battles you have ADHD.

In Bg2 and Iwd2 you were killing hundreds of enemies. Real time combat is the only solution if they are going to bring us a lot of cannon fodder to kill.
avatar
Crosmando: That's the solution then innit, don't have encounters full of boring trash mobs of kobolds, have fewer but more important combat encounters which are more lethal
avatar
Elmofongo: Fuck fog of war it ruined a bit of my experiance with Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1 and 2 did not have any fog of war and it did not ruin anything.

Fog of War should only be in strategy games.
avatar
Crosmando: Why, tell us why a character should for example be able to know what's inside a room before they even enter it? And Fallout wasn't a dungeon crawler.

Worse than Ultima 7?
avatar
Crosmando: More like NWN2
But I like to see the whole enviornment, espcially landmark enviornments like a city or a castle, (whats the point of putting a fog in a non combat city?) also again in Fallout 1 and 2 there is a comprimse where you cannot move the mouse to see the whole enviornment, just whats couple of distance from your character.

Dude, come on. Not cool. Using ADHD as an insult? Either you like the combat, or you don't. ADHD doesn't factor into it.

What shitposting?

Perhaps, but ToEE combat was more tactical than BG or IWD.

Yes but I doubt Obsidian are not going to have an option for free-roaming camera RTS style, people want that sort of thing with an isometric perspective.

I would prefer turn-based too but BG2 ran RTwP pretty well. D&D hardcore rules and up BG2's Abazigal, Demogorgon, and stuff like demi-liches aren't a joke. I took 2 days to defeat Demogorgon on my first try more than 10 years back.
So whats the most important things you guys expect from this game?

BG2 vanilla isn't hard because the AI is dumb and can be glitched or cheesed by exploiting the real-time combat. However if you use Sword Coast Strategems (SCS) mod, which overhauls AI, it's a lot more tactical, Liches pre-buff and everything.

My problem with RTwP goes much deeper than tactics though, I just don't like the twitchy "feel" of it, it's too fast.

Pretty graphics + interesting dialogues/story

It's Obsidian though so probably add a ton of bugs and bad combat to the list.

Well, I've played BG2 5-6 times without glitching anything, just normal playthrough on D&D Core Rules, so I did everything the way it's supposed to be done.

I'm secretly hoping it to be "Baldur's Gate 3". :D

You didn't even kill Drizzt to loot his cool gear?

Awesome background material for the sequelS.

Demogorgon was relatively easy compared to Kangaxx, god fucking dammit that demilich... OF course there are people who defeat him solo, but well...

Demogorgon can be easier if you decide to visit the tower for the first time when you are leveled up, of course. Using highest level spells etc etc.

I can imagine him being a pain in the ass if you're coming for him mid-game.

Yeah, near the Lake

It's easier to kill him after he helps you to defeat Bodhi.

You just leave him to fight the vampire, when he kills her he should be badly wounded, and then you kill him ;p

Strangely, I found Demogorgon easier to beat than the demons guarding the last seal before his level.
