Good grief, I almost forgot to pledge for this! Checking it just now was pure, distilled and unfiltered luck. A 25 well spent, I reckon. Now to update myself with the updates...

EDIT: By the gods of the Anvil! I think they can pull off 4 million still, and easily!

Really split on making a last minute pledge or not. Been holding out for a while not due to doubt of how it'll turn out to be but because the tier I'm most interested in ($50) might not be a good idea of me to spend money on at this moment.

Does anyone know if they've made any mention of letting people pre-order after tonight but still get the "rewards" for doing so? Or are some of the things included in the $50 tier, for example, Kickstarter-exclusive?
With so much strech goals, strongholds, two big cities, many extra classes and content, 12 level dungeon, the approx premiere date for this game is....

2034.
I seriously don't believe they are gonna make it in 18 months. Unless they want to release some bugfested unpolished raw build.

.

If they have most of the core tech ready it is possible. As I understand they will be mainly using Unity for this game. So they should be able to start focus on assets, story, and gameplay straight away.

It's one of those projects that is very likely to take a bit more time though. At least 3-4 months extra would be a raw guess. It's got awfully high expectations to hold up to, especially now. Even bigger than DFA or perhaps even Wasteland 2.

What I've heard is they intend to do this Wasteland 2 style; that is, some time after the Kickstarter closes they'll open up their own store page with basically the same pledge tiers, so people who missed the Kickstarter can still opt in on rewards up to some point. I'd drop them a note to ask clarification though.

Probably not all though -- and it states in the rewards (I think) that the low-tiers that include the game (under retail price) won't be available after the kickstarter, if I understood correctly.

The impression I got from those lower tiers on re-reading them is that there's an exclusive Kickstarter achievement and game item but it's difficult to tell if everything else is also exclusive too, although it's not how I understand it to be the case. The only other exclusive - I guess - is the price of the base game, or so it would seem.

Whatever the case, I'll probably drop a message on their stream and hope they see amongst everything else.

It's true that the $25 price on the game is Kickstarter exclusive, but the higher tiers should remain the same.

Looks like we might just break $4M on this with Paypal included. It's already about to breach $3.9M. Hot damascus daffodils.

As stonebro noted, they don't have to create a new engine, which I understand takes tons of time. So that significantly reduces it right there. I'm also thinking they had a lot of stuff in their back pockets (story, wetting, classes, etc) already, so don't have to come up with that all from scratch either. I do agree it seems like a lot to get done in the time frame though. I wouldn't be surprised (nor would I mind) if they need to take 2 or 3 more months to get it ready.

It already did. Darren reported that Paypal is at just over $131,000

Yes! I actually messaged Feargus about this yesterday and forgot to post the response. You will be able to pledge via Paypal after the KS ends and the rewards will be the same as Kickstarter.

Thanks for the reply, mate! Been trying on the stream but it's pretty bloody difficult to get an answer, haha.

So they actually responded to this question. May I ask if you also asked him if we will be able to upgrade our pledges?

No, sorry. You'll probably be able to though, you could with Wasteland 2.

Thanks anyhow for the answer. Since they will accept PayPal additions for those who "forgot" to pledge delivery costs, I am guessing they will set up an account system. Christ, if they added W2 to the pledges, they'll certainly share other elements as well. I've been eyeing the signed collector's edition box to sit nicely next to my collector's edition Wasteland 2 box.

I believe that has been confirmed.
It's at well over $4,000,000 including the PayPal pledges :D

Mega dungeon is at 13 levels (which is how many they were hoping to reach :) )

Just backed it myself, finally.
