I threw in the 20 bucks, as there's people in the team that have done some of my favourite CRPG ever, so changes are this will deliver. Of course it may go horribly wrong like TOEE, but I'll let that slide.

Coelocanth: Didn't see this linked anywhere, so here's a gamebanshee interview with Feargus about the game.
Feargus: Our goal is to use voice over as flavor and not as something that exists for every written word in the game. We don’t want to cut down on the depth of dialogs or the number of choices that players have because we are counting voice over dollars. That means, like practically every Obsidian project to date, we are going to push the boundaries of reactivity in our dialogs. And, the more we get funded the more we can do that.
YESSSS.

Petrell: I expect more than expensive frisbee for 65 bucks as that's all the game disk would be for me if they opt to make game Steam exclusive as then disk will also contain steamworks and will only be redeemable on steam. I could never play the game then as Steam Client will never come anywhere near any of my computers.
I will cancel my pledge if Steamworks or any DRM is used for the physical boxed version, but there is nothing to indicate or even suggest that is the case.

Taleroth: In their defense, developers/publishers do have the option to not use the DRM side of Steam. Paradox does it for several games.
Do explain me how I can download standalone DRM free game installers and patches from Steam store without ever installing Steam Client? (You don't need to answer as there are no ways to do that. ;-) :-p) I might actually consider using Steam Store if they offered such options but I already know they never will.

Starmaker: Backed it for $500 + S&H, but if they don't announce a basic tier DRM-free version by the time the project closes, I'm out.
There is no international shipping cost for $500 tier or higher.

Yep. It's just sounding better and better.

But there isn't evidence to suggest that isn't the case too. That's why I only pledged $20. I don't mind renting an Obsidian RPG from Steam - even if it's RTwP - but until they clarify their DRM stance on the boxed version, I will be very hesitant to back the project at that tier.

I pledged anyway, but I plan on camping out on the Obsidian forums when they get up and running again. I'll see if they give any answers to the question of DRM on the physical versions and update on here if no one else has.

If you missed it, Petrell posted some info on the digital download version, indicating they haven't decided that Steam is going to be the only option yet.

It would be awsome have it here on gog.

Oh my GOG, yes. I'm going to suggest it to them on their forums (when i can finally get on there). Hopefully they'll be open to at least looking into it.
This should definitely be on GOG!

Coelocanth:
That will be great. Thanks!
Wow, they have already reached over 400K. I guess my old man was right, reputation is everything. If funding continues at this pace, they'll have their money by the end of the weekend. Amazing!!

Meh, realtime with pause fantasy. Dumbed down mainstream 'RPG'.
