I agree with this. Something must trigger the next stage of the day. If we are not moving towards it, I think we are going to start stagnating. Sort of felt that way reading the back-and-forth today. I'm not sure I learned much other than it's the most posts I've seen by Ixam in a short period of time.

My guess is that we need either a majority on a player or a certain number of votes on one or more players to trigger the next stage of the day. Anyone agree?

I wasted a lot of time with my computer access and need to get to bed. I don't think I'll be able to participate tomorrow, so I'll make a few comments and vote before calling it a night. More to come.

Now we really can be certain of lurkers to be taken care of, so QuadrAlien falls into that department and vote shall not be wasted on him.

Don't know about what others think but lx can be as much of a distraction as a really helping hand if town. Simply take the last game where I had to kill myself to make him believe. Thank the gods he was confirmed town at that moment. Otherwise I would have voted him in the blink of an eye.

Also, lx has a small to average tendency to go into wild theories later in the game if we (as a group of all players) get stuck with inabillity to make a decision. That only adds to confusion and makes lx always look more scummy regardless of the alignment.

Based on my personal experience, lx's behavior and fact that his wagon would something to talk about, I feel perfectly fine voting him.

So that is one player I see of voting. Another player makes my eyebrows dance a bit and I am having second thoughts about one of the newcomers. Nothing concrete to share though, so until I gather facts to support my feelings, that will be that.

FWIW, I rescind my prior suggestion. Need to stop trying to drive and watch more.

Someone else propose whatever. I'll try my best to not impatiently wake up and go right back to driving.

Though I'll be in meetings/appts most of the morning anyway. So that should help, at least for a few hours. Beyond that I'll need some actual discipline. :)

More serious thoughts…of the players who currently have votes:

Quad – my vote for Quad would be for lurking. Very little content. I don’t think we learn much from lynching him, not my first choice.

Lift – If Lift is scum, Stanari is likely town. Nacho would also earn some town points. Lift is seeming more town to me, which means I need to keep an eye on him, but I don’t see myself voting for him Today.

docbear – Still seems a bit lost. Did she draw scum? Could be. I’m still willing to give her some slack.

trent – I’ve already said this - I think trent plays the same regardless of alignment. Seeing votes on him doesn’t surprise me. However, the combo vote of yogs and Stanari does seems strange. Yogs seems to be coasting (which is worrisome). My initial thought that one of yogs/Stanari is scum is still lingering – not comfortable joining this wagon

Stanari – Stanari makes me smile. I don’t want her to be scum. If Ixam, is scum, I wouldn’t necessarily assume she has to also be scum, but it would certainly be worth a closer look. And I agree with yogs on this part - unless someone warrants it, I'd prefer not to vote for players who are new to our site on D1. Once D2 starts, the hospitality wagon is closed.

Ixam – Ixam’s initial posts seemed evasive of bler’s questions. Given his start, I find it more than ironic to be suggesting lynching Fox or Dragon for lack of participation/content. The comment about bler and him appearing like scum buddies felt contrived. I like that he’s defending himself, but I don’t have the positive vibes that Stanari has:

Well, in my experience it does. At least when I was scum that was part of the nightly discussions: Player X is seen as town by most others and is therefore impossible to push to lynch. So we have to nightkill him sooner or later. Players Y and Z, however, are mistrusted by many, so we probably can get a lynch train on one of them going. Let's keep them around. And if everyone makes an ordered list, this evaluation whom to nightkill and whom to keep around gets much easier for scum. At least, if I were scum I would love to have such a list. Which is why I refuse to give it to them. Maybe I was too naive when playing scum and maybe I am too naive now. But I see ordered lists as more helpful to scum than to town.

Docbear, as mentioned, is in a somewhat worrying position for me. From the previous game I mentioned, I'm getting the impression I CAN'T read her, which presents a problem. The most I can say for the moment is...

...I'm sorry, what was that last bit? To me it seems to imply Ix is scum. Surely by definition a convenient wagon for scum would be on a Town player, with the exception of some of the more unusual backstabbing roles?

Yes, I know, I'd find myself dead or conspicuously alive by Day 3. :( Though maybe "plan" was the wrong word... (You try thinking of the correct one when you've just had a hole drilled in your teeth!)

The problem is I find myself second-guessing myself on pretty much everything this early - I've tried taking a look at Lift's posts, thought about them thinking they appeared town, and found myself asking if they're simply strong posts for either side that I see rather than actually town ones.

Doesn't help that I've usually got about 3 hours per day I can give the game the attention it deserves, though I've now at least got a chance to catch up during train journeys and post afterwards. At work my available time at any one moment's too short to be coherent - this post may be one of the results.

(And then I bugger off to play Overwatch during the time you could concentrate.) Quiet, you! :P

Yogs seems to have disappeared after not really saying much yesterday, do you think he went in search of Nacho who's last post was a couple of days ago. Maybe they are having a picnic in the woods...

At this point I think everyone should have a feel as to who their top scum suspect is and should vote, if we keep dragging our feet then things are going to start to stagnate and all that does is benefit scum. Not sure how it goes for the new players' games but for GOG games it seems as if nothing happens until a deadline is set and then a rushed lynch occurs. I would prefer that not be the case here. The majority of people have voted now, and I like blers' idea of having at least two solid wagons to discuss if possible.

For me my vote will stay on Ix unless something drastic happens. I am not going to vote no lynch that has been mentioned by some players (yogs and Ix are two that come to mind).

It looks like we don't get flips from modkills. Let's hope that we do get flips from lynches and night-kills. Otherwise this is going to be a very hard game!

Because you asked, I'll try again:
1) Post 221: Nacho said he expected that I'd reveal what I knew about events as soon as I knew it. He also said my timing seemed off.
2) Implication from 1: He thinks I didn't reveal about events as soon as I knew.
3) From Post 281: He assumed [that I didn't reveal it as soon as I knew].

If he expected that I'd reveal ASAP, then why not ask whether I revealed ASAP? Why assume that I've been holding out? If he'd asked whether I knew from the start or whether I'd just found out, it would have been a complete non-issue from my perspective (it would have been a completely legit question). Instead, he assumed that I'd been holding out, and he didn't like that I'd been holding out.

I don't expect people to read my mind; I do expect them to consider ideas that seem like natural outgrowths of their stated assumptions. To me, jumping straight to "this doesn't feel right" sounds like someone trying to cast some doubt/shade on someone else.

What do you see Ixam as doing? Why do you think his posts are attracting attention?

I agree that the mindset is relevant.
In this instance, I think asking for a definition for "act rationally" is looking for some grounds to nitpick about something irrelevant; I'm assuming that we all have a similar idea of what it means to act rationally (act on facts and in the best interests of one's team, not on emotion).

Still working my way through the thread, typical day 1 posturing for the most part. I think it may prove useful once we get some flips as there certainly seem to be sides forming. The quote above from docbear, that is interesting. Is it just poorly worded or a slip? That is the real question. Certainly can be read to say scum have decided to give up on one of their own which also implies a daychat if true.

So far:
I just think Yogs is too silent for my liking. Town Yogs usually tends to want to break the game open early.
Trent, I'm a little surprised he didn't raise more of a stink over Bookwyrm's Mason claim, but beyond that, I'm still not seeing any smoke.

Given how this game seems to be designed around stages, and how the stages advance if we meet certain goals...not sure I'm ready for Sundown yet.

Maybe it too early in the morning, but whatever the intent of post 704, I don't like it. To me, it makes Docbear the most compelling case I've seen thus far. And I would have missed it too, bad tendency to miss the posts which post while I'm typing my own.

The stance on no lynch and his utter refusal to explain himself to bler are both unpopular stances that are pushing him into the spotlight.

I would like actual reads instead of mechanical talk.
