October 17, 1696 -

Today is the coldest day of the season so far, by far. The temperature wasn't even this cold overnight, but once the morning started to break, a cold front settled into the area and the air has been noticeably colder.

The leaves have been falling for weeks at a slow but ever-increasing rate, and now there is a constant raining down of them that, while it is a beautiful site, more and more signals the incoming winter. A winter which you all figure is bound to start baring its teeth within the next few weeks and for which you all anxiously await, because you know that once snow begins to come, it can come in loads.

The thoughts of the incoming winter are an inevitable part of life in these parts, and are usually not much of a mention to any of you, but, with your friends and families still far away in Nashua, even more especially so given the uncertainty of the current situation, it daunts you all quite a bit.

The few days-old remaining pieces of apple pie no longer bring the warm fuzzies, and before where there was a lot of friendliness and camaraderie to the tones of discussion, there is now more curtness and impatience to most of your demeanors when interacting, and it is having an undeniable effect on the overall mood.

"What is your problem? You're not right." Jim and Jay have been going at each other more and more as the day has gone on. Taking little breaks to discuss among the group and with others, but then seem to inevitably be back at it. You are all used to them squabbling, in brotherly ways, but it certainly doesn't make things less tense right now, and there seems to be a more edge in their voices at each other than usual. "What's your problem? Get off my back!"

The day goes on and nothing seems to have changed much despite the hours spent working together. Then,

"Ma! You're not behaving right! Stop it!" Eric's raised voice causes all the other little discussions going on to halt, and everyone turns their attention to him and his mother. They notice everyone stop and look at them, but they continue their spat, unable to stop.

"What do you mean?! We've been dilly-dallying around whatever is going on for over two weeks! We are barely talking about what might have happened to Julie and even less about what to do about it! Practically nothing has changed, except we're all a bit more on edge because we miss our families and the way things normally are, and are all finding reasons to suspect each other of who knows what! I know I'm close to the community home, but 'm getting tired of walking back and forth all the time. What do you want from me? You want to know what I was just thinking? 'Damn, my feet hurt, I hope I can get a ride home tonight.' That's what! OOOO, deep I know! It's all I have to say for now. Let's do something, or let's be done for the evening, it's been a crap day and we're all probably not quite ourselves and we will be better served if we call it a night and get some rest."

"'Do something'" Eric mocks his mother, it's all he can hear out of all of her words. Years of pent up frustration with certain things about her are starting to peak through the surface. "DO something?" He echoes. "How about we kill you! How's THAT for doing something?!"

The rest of you stare in shock, uncertain how to proceed, yet you feel like you'd like nothing more than to do just that.

NOTE:

as it says in the rules - This is just flavor written based on character interaction and is not indicative of anything (other than the most basic of 2+ relations having voted for each other, which triggered a pre-planned [though not pre-written] purely flavor event.)

You have until tomorrow when I wake up to make a post otherwise you will incur a penalty.

Please remind me what is so interesting about Trent.

DragonSushi: In GoT Yog was under an alt account, for what that's worth. It also let him talk like an insane megalomaniac.
So you're saying playing under an alias didn't change his game any?

avatar
drealmer7: and...heh...quakers and shakers...sooo not the same thing (though you may know that), but they always get associated together
Yeah, know that, but growing up in New England I knew more about Shakers than Quakers. Since this is Maine...

Bought a fair amount of baked goods from the Mennonites when I lived in OH. More crossover between them and Quakers than the Shakers. Not least the "still existing."

yogsloth: "Murder in that one crappy shoebox-sized locker room that doesn't have direct access to the ice we always get stuck in at the Lakewood hockey rink"
Would play that game.

That was clearly more about quantity than quality. (TWSS).

So...Stan votes trent for...boredom. It's...motion of a sort, I guess.

Oh right, no links. Sorry about that. I'd been linking game threads so kinda forgot there was a distinction. There was a period today where I was reading Brasas talking about "emma" and it seemed weird for him to be talking about me exactly in that way...

bler144: ...
good job!

you missed some innuendoes

maybe?...well...in previous posts at least

This is spiraling downward fast.

Little man in the boat count: 0

On that note, there was a story last week about a lab in France that made a model of the clitoris using a 3d printer. I'd known it was a more complicated internal structure several inches long, but still quite impressive to see it modeled out and separated from the surrounding tissue. Even a lot of A&P classes just gloss over it.

And of course, everyone already knows that the birth canal of the female hyena passes through the length of the clitoris. Serious yowch.

And now it's gonna be tough on me
But I will wait forever
I need someone now to look into my eyes and tell me

OK. This calls for a big helping of: WHY? Voting without reason is scummy. Voting on someone just out of boredom is not helping town either.
Since people are mentioning trent and I decided to look over him. A lot of his posts seem more RP related than actually really trying to determine alignments or make pushes. When he does...

trentonlf: *In character* I raised you better than to sit quietly while others try to slander your name!

*out of character* I am concerned that yogsloth has disappeared after making the trombone comment. Several people have noted how they have not liked what he has been doing in his posts and he has had no response. He as been one of the most active people in the game so far, his sudden disappearance seems odd.

Also, I am concerned that Emma (Ixamyakxim) has not arrived yet, as much time as has passed since the bell rang to bring everyone together he should have made an appearance by now.

@Nacho, the wolf joke you made when I first saw it made me go "WTH is he thinking, that is so scummy to say" and I almost voted you for it. Then I realized it was akin to what another player (dedoporno) always does every game he plays, he posts a meme when someone accuses him of being scum saying something along the lines of "Bitch I might be". The first game he did it I was all over him for doing so, pointing out how scummy it was and if he was town then he shouldn't be saying that. He ended up being town that game and it turned into a running joke between us since then, and made me realize that sometimes a joke is just a joke.
What I am seeing is negative reaction to Yog vanishing some. Mention about Ix not being around at the time. Joke thing is alright, but what I'm looking for right now is who he actually goes after and why.

Bookwyrm627: YOU DID WANT TO HAVE A WERE-WOLEPHANT RUNNING THROUGH THE VILLAGE!!
avatar
trentonlf: I just wanted the elephant to stomp the werewolves, you are the one who said it would turn into a were-wolephant LOL.

Vote Ixamyakxim
Still nothing from Ix, that's not good. First game I played here, ironically, Ix was the host and players allowed another player to stay alive who had stopped participating. I think it caused town to lose the game. Not going that route again. Hopefully he shows up soon, but at this point he's hust dead weight.
More about Ix and his absence.

avatar
Nachomamma8: Hey trenton - anything in particular I should be looking out for right now? Who are your top three wolf suspects?
avatar
trentonlf: As I said before I don't like doing lists, but I'll humor you in a roundabout way. I find it highly unlikely I'll vote for these people today:
1. yogs
2. Bler
3. Nacho
4. Bookwyrm
5. Tammy
6. Brasas
7. Docbear

The rest of the people I have my eye on, most notably a beaded fellow.

But tell me this, why should I remove my vote from Ix? He comes in and states he is not going to read what he missed in the thread and about an hour later votes no lynch. A no lynch on day 1 is a free pass for mafia, no thank you.
Again most of his attack seems to be on Ix. And in this case I see the complain about the no lynch. But I don't think a lazy 'Let's just kill the low poster with no info' is much better. Only if you think there's nothing better do I think just going for the low poster is good. But I don't see much attempt to really even look for a stronger alternative in trent's posts.

avatar
Nachomamma8: But I can't really see myself voting for lx after his latest, regardless of the nature of his no lynch vote.
avatar
trentonlf: Of all the behavior I've seen on Day 1 so far I don't like what Ix has shown, I find it scummy and that's why I've voted him. There are others I can see me voting for as well, most notably agent. He has popped on and made some posts but nothing of real substance. Almost feels as if he's posting to post and seem active. For now I have my vote in what I consider a good spot.
Other person disliked is agent for lack of substance. I'm not sure what substance trent really has himself though aside from talking about Ix the low poster.

Overall not a fan of Trent right now.
avatar
bler144: Just a hair more context. In the first link, where Ix votes, he's responding to Trent who was vote #2. In the interim flub (his teammate) had voted #3.

Was always curious but never asked if the real reason Ix got nervous about his vote and added the hedging comments was because he'd seen flub's vote and got nervous they were back-to-back on what he would've assumed was a townie's wagon.

@cristi - you were Ix's teammate in that game. How do you assess his scum game?
I iso'd Ixam through the first 2 days. I also looked at the posts you mentioned. It must not be a standout moment for me. Without reading more context, I wasn't certain of what you saw in those posts. I agree that Ixam's scum game would not feel smooth, but I'm not sure his game would feel that way regardless of alignment.

I did agree that his initial response to your question about elaborating on his time felt evasive. And I also thought his no-lynch vote felt too quick for someone who had just joined the thread. It felt off. On the other hand, his post about the vote on him had a strong town feel. That post reminded me of something, but i couldn't pin-point it (not even sure it was related to Ixam).

Do you think you were spot on with the initial read (about him lying) or do you think you may have over-reacted? I know I over-react at times, but I also remember clearly in your Insane game - just knowing that Bookwyrm lied about his reasoning (initially) for reading CSPVG's file. Bookwyrm turned out to be town but he was lying about why he picked CSPVG's file. I don't think I followed my gut long enough on that one (regardless of how it eventually turned out). Curious how strong you feel about this read.
So looking at Stanari, one of the current people on the Trent wagon...

So earlier dislike of yog, but quickly turned into nothing. Town read of Ix.... Is there much more actual content on what you think of people's alignments, Stanari? I definitely feel like you've floated by
