Staring at Dess's iso like there's something there but I just can't see it >__>

How does Dess treat his partners? Is he more likely to ignore them, banter awkwardly, bus them, distance, buddy, townread them, follow the consensus? Is he prone to angling for low-hanging fruit? As town, how good are his reads usually? Does it ring alarm bells if he's scumreading you and you're town? Does it mean anything that he welcomed RW but not babark? Did anyone ever come to a conclusion on the docbear "following buddies' lead" """"slip""""?

Particularly interested in bler's perception of any of these questions. I sort of want to toneclear a bunch of people but a) I'm bad and b) I don't know who to toneclear. I think Dess's iso might support townreads on cristi, trent, maybe babark.

She claimed during the day yesterday that she did not want a no lynch to happen yet at the end of the day she put her vote on yogsloth who was not going to be lynched. She defended dessimu earlier stating his scum game was much better than his town game and since he was not playing as well as he had in the past she could not see him being scum (post 1323). What I would typically have expected to see from cristi was a vote on dessimu at that point if she was town. In any game I've played with her where she's been town she will make sure a lynch happens by the end of the day and her placing her vote on yogsloth makes me think she was trying to appear townie by actually voting but making sure she did not vote her buddy and get him lynched.

Ummm, I'm not going to place a vote on someone I think is town just to get a lynch. I was willing to vote on drealmer in the game where I was the coroner and needed a lynch to let the mod inform everyone of the flip. If I remember correctly, drealmer was in my neutral pile. I did consider that he might be a town mis-lynch, but I knew we would at least get some information from it. I had inside knowledge that everyone else lacked in that game. But otherwise, as town, I don't vote on someone I think is town to get a lynch.

@Trent - can you site a game where I voted to lynch someone who I thought was town? I am a strong proponent for lynch on D1 but not at the expense of someone I think is town.

I'm not sure to read trent's vote as town or scum. I'll try to re-read trent sometime during the weekend.


@brasas - a late response to your request for thoughts on the D1 no-lynch.

The no-lynch votes felt most disingenuous in reverse order of when they were placed.
1. Perhaps it's easy to say this now, but RWarehall's move from Dessi to no-lynch felt wrong. His argument that we had learned enough already that day, only makes sense coming from scum. Town had learned nothing, really, other than some claims that could not be verified D1.

2. yogs move to no-lynch also seems suspicious. Yogs hops back and forth between Dessi and babark, before parking on babark for what seemed like the long haul. And then switches to no-lynch because "It's the disaster you all seem to crave so much." I believe at that time, other than trent, no one else was voting for no-lynch. It's an odd move to make for someone who like to ham-up the desire to kill.

3. trent's vote was the one that may actually be consistent with his meta. If trent is town, then his reason gels with town!trent. He thought Dessi was likely town, too many roles had claimed and didn't want to see another that Day. On the flip side, if we are dealing with scum!trent, then it looks like an excuse to ditch his buddy's wagon (when it still looked viable). His switch took the vote from Dessi - 4, no-lynch - 2, to both tied at 3-3.

over 3 hours reading mostly... enough then...

Got to give a headsup I'm going to find it hard to participate some days incoming. Kind of "good luck" the Night is nearing... although I actually don't like how D2 is going at all. Deja vu all over again.

PS: Can the oldtimers confirm my perhaps wrong impression this is very messy state for the usual? It was not just the player numbers? Or is/was it? DON'T BREAK THE RULES THOUGH


Revisiting the gameplan:
Avoid voting Tammy, Ix or babark and see how they resolve - still mostly ok with this
Try and look at EOD D1 progressions - Yogs, Trent no lynch, etc... thanks to those that helped here, Yogs kinda jumped in the way of this, I also promised to focus on Lift to Bler...
Ok to vote anyone else pretty much:
1 - Bler (despite claim) because I think he needs to focus, a policy of sorts
@Bler - "suicide" is never the way to go - you can make it Bler, hang on and just get some distance from it somehow? I decided to look at the game only mornings a while back, and it helped.
2 - Lift despite claim, despite my not having reread him fully - more than ok to vote

And so, where do I vote since Nacho clearly has no traction?
(Tammy will need more to be convinced clearly, or will never bus him...)

I should say I find myself closer to locking Bler as town, and less confident about Tammy. @Bler, if there is some ridonculous happy end flavor for Marie and Dan in the middle of this I'll be grinning. Silouetes riding into the sunset THE END. :) I still think it's multiball and we're both whistling past the graveyard though...

And also I am not settled, far from it, on the factions size and who they are. Sure I have some ideas, but that's all they are. One thing I am leaning to is that the 2 wolf NKs seem less significant than RW's disappearance now. RW could have been the other faction. The rest wolf shenanigans of some kind.

If he's town, perhaps pushing him towards a lynch will force him to actually play. If he gets lynched, he loses some bragging rights.

So yeah. Here we are. I thought about this and will go for it despite the OMGUS. I think it's the right play. scum|yogs leads to scum|Nacho - despite the personal dislike angle I think I have a case on Nacho. Lift is low hanging fruit and you'll surprise me if you actually make it happen collectively. So I'm giving you an actual plan B.

Last count was P1611. Now:
It's Lift at 3
It's Yogs at 3 with + Cristi, me

And nothing else really. I'll be happy with either of these flips.
Bler and Trent should move. I can guess where Lift will go. Babark and Tammy should also commit please.

It hurts to leave Nacho. But well, maybe in a roundabut way we get there eventually...

I believe in a Doctor because I can only protect myself. I am no use in protecting other PRs - and considering the number of kills, I think there has to be a general protective role to balance this many killing roles. If Quad was really a bodyguard, that might change. But we don't know that. We could ask the mod for clarification what a Worrier is, but somehow I don't think he will answer that. So for the moment I am willing to buy babark's claim until we catch him at a lie or run out of better targets.

I briefly considered fake claiming some power role to pull a NK attempt, but I am a big fan of town not lying. Ever. Also a fake claim usually creates more problems for town that it's benefits are worth. (Bookwyrm demonstrated that repeatedly) So I discarded that idea. Plus I somehow managed to make myself look so scummy that I was an unlikely NK-target. I had planned on rectifying that on Day 2 and perhaps making myself night-killable by breadcrumbing or so, but then my train took off at top speed and I was forced to claim. Well, I'm sure I will still find a use for my power.

And to comply with the rules, a defense of bler: don't kill him yet! It's not necessary. He'll get himself modkilled anyhow! ;-)

Lift I wasn't asking if you had a plan for your role now, but what was your plan for it when you got it? Also, does your flavor suggest why you would go out to the meadow one night where you can't be found?

Cristi - From what I gathered dreamer was interested in how the group would react to a mod confirmed kill.

Brasas' paranoia is off the charts though! It kinda reminds me of how paranoid I've gotten in the past, so I think that looks very town and we should not consider brasas. Though I'm interested in why yogsloth has dropped that one.

You basically explained what your role was, gave the name, and (I didn't know what a Commuter does, so I looked it up) described it. So I'm not sure what exactly you'd be describing publicly, unless you had powers in addition to that. But in that case:

No, I don't. The only thing left to discuss would be how many shots I have and when I am planning to use them. And that's something that wouldn't be wise or necessary to discuss. But meanwhile Tammy clarified that she was asking for my original intention, so that is a moot point anyhow.

And to Tammy: my flavour basically states that I like to be part of the Town, that I deeply care for it and like to provide for it and that I do get along with basically everybody, although I am not a founding member. But once in a while I just like to be alone. Thinking and talking to my cows. (They don't talk back. That's an advantage ... and no, the 'not talking back' part wasn't in the flavour, that's an addition from myself. The 'talking to my cows' part, however, was part of the flavour.)

Why? I made it quite clear previously that I see Nacho and Yogs both as scummy and that I would be content with the lynch of either of these two. The Nacho train isn't going anywhere, so I vote Yogs instead. You know, I would prefer to lynch someone scummy over a no lynch. So what's so bad about this vote hop? Can you explain that?


And to answer your question: I don't know why scum would kill Quad. I don't see any good reason why they would target him. So maybe you're right and he was bodyguarding someone. But maybe not and there is some other play at work. Maybe he was even killed by some neutral SK/whatever with an own agenda. Maybe even one of your crackpot theories about splash damage or whatever is true. Who knows?


Oh, and just to make it clear: with answering all these questions I of course defend myself (gotta comply with the rule): don't lynch me, my cows would be lonely when no one talks to them!

If you are town I agree with your statement, but if you are scum you would have done the exact thing you did. Move your vote to a non viable wagon to make sure a lynch did not happen on your buddy. I'm leaning toward you being scum, so I see it as you placing a vote to make sure you were voting but knowing it is a lynch that will not happen.

Not sure exactly how I'm derailing a wagon, I don't think LIft is scum so I removed my vote. I was unsure at the end of the day yesterday who to believe and did not want to lynch PR so I voted no lynch. I place my vote on who I think is scum, and I don't think Lift is and I do think crisit probably is hence my vote.

Yeah, but I guess it's weird to me why you don't see why that's exactly the problem. First mod-kill was no flip, drealmer's non-response on the question (privately) makes me think I'd go out similarly.

There's a cohort that has me neutral-to-scum (ix, babs, lift, and arguably brasas) and a cohort that thinks I'm town (cristi, tammy, yogs, stan), and then a whooole bunch of people I've pushed on. You don't think it would be a notable data loss if I'm just nulled out of existence?

Though the counter-arguments, I suppose, are that I've posted so much probably no one wants to actually do a thorough re-read.

But in agent's game the lack of key flips made it really easy for scum to push theories that "adalia was scum, ergo his push on JMich means Jmich is town!" or whatever it was. The mechanic made it pretty easily exploitable by the side (hint: not town) who had knowledge over those who didn't, and I can see there being factional disagreements here over where I fit in that could be similarly exploited.

If I knew I'd flip upon modkill, then sure, I'd just plow ahead. Whatever. I don't actually want to suicide as I think I'd be quite useful in end-game, provided I don't eff it up.

If we're down to Lift v. yogs, which seems to be the case, I think yogs is more likely to be town but less likely to have utility. Also arguably less investment in putting in any actual work or effort to be solvey.

@Cristi/Stan/whoever I'd prefer to hold my defense of yogs b/c I have some inkling of what I think his claim/defense is going to be, and c) I could be totally wrong, sure, and/but d) if he is scum there's no reason for me to feed him ideas. I have a theory, and a little bit of ...data...and that's about it.

Now, if his defense is what I think it's going to be, I honestly don't know which way I'd vote between the two at EOD.

Yogs and I chatted a bit yesterday about non-game stuff, and I believe he's doing kids sports stuff (and traveling) most of the weekend, so...maybe he checks in tonight but I'm kinda guessing we won't see him til tomorrow.
