Every time babark or RW post my eyes glaze over.

Stanari:
Yeah, same to some extent. Really want babark to give pretty much any other reads on anything else. He says he's caught up.

"Compulsive" is probably just a psychological thing. I feel like it came up one other time (thief role or something, as RW mentioned?), but the two cases where I know it came up for sure (in the same game) were dedoporno's "mafia compulsive firefighter" and flubbucket's fake "Town Compulsive Arsonist-igator."

Let's just say it evokes negative thoughts for me, and presumably for many of the others who played that game.

Not really sure what the application would be for a town role, but then definitely can't put it past Drealmer including it to troll us. He was not in that game, but it certainly comes up enough he'd almost certainly be aware of the history.

For example, why does an investigator need to be compulsive anyway? You're likely to use it all the time automatically. It came up in flub's bluff to explain why he had to kill someone every night, despite being, y'know, town.

I'd like RW to try to provide a sparknotes version of why he seems so convinced about Barbark. I'd like Babark to respond to a couple of the points against him but mostly I would just like him to do something else, I think that defending against people's attacks against you and doubling that as a point against them is something that's pretty easy to do as scum despite also being a pretty natural tendency as town.

Talking too much about lx's claim and laying out our expectations for what we expect his claim to be seems foolish in the event of lx!wolf, not really sure why that whole conversation is happening at all.

It would've ended a while ago, but I thought I'd asked RW question A but instead asked question B, and I thought it odd he wasn't responding to question A.

So I brought it back up and poked at it a bit thinking I might read into RWvBabark from a completely different angle.

But it appears he's not posting anyway.

Side note/general thoughts, I actually agree, despite the flavor, that town dayvig is probably the best explanation, particularly after the clarification that it wasn't a mod-kill. A few things about it are intriguing.

Among other things, it does tend to suggest we'll see flips from lynch, and hopefully also NKs.
My thought was that it was probably your weird neutral kill. It wasn't a high profile enough kill to be coming from scum, but town silently shooting Sushi instead of someone a bit scummier or a bit more likely to give "information" seems weird to me.

It wouldn't have been my first choice either but I was reminded of a town player proposing something exactly like this in a game. A few minor differences, but core strategy pretty much exactly on point.

Have a few theories on who, but still tend to presume it was town going with the low-risk/low-reward option.

Don't know that it helps neutral much - if anything you've removed a lurker who might eat a noose over you someday.
So I see that my question to RW was asked two pages ago and I feel sort of stupid. I'll respond to that maybe soon!

Yay! It's not just me then.

Welcome to the group.
I feel reassured that RW's main point is not the implied knowledge point (because I'm hoping for more from him), and instead the point that Docbear's approach was an odd way to throw shade on the lx wagon. I think holding a replace out against someone is absurd; replacing out because you can't handle the heat is something that a lot of people say happens and then doesn't happen in practice because it's a really really slimy move and most people are just better than that? I'll probably have better words for this later (I hate being told I can edit my post later when it's a bitter, bitter lie) but I have to admit that this post in particular is sucking away any interest I had in lynching RW today, want to give him room and see what he can do with it.
Re-read RW, and...I think I probably created most of the tension between us. Long before today's mess.

Not to say he couldn't pull off the rational affect as town, but pretty much all the tone was me either glossing over exculpatory stuff or extrapolating from the fact that I wasn't fully seeing his case that he was pushing an agenda.

Case in point, I thought it was weird he was pinging Lift over the "was town" issue, but he does kinda qualify his own post, with "probably nothing" which I didn't give him enough credit for on first pass. Still think that one's a big stretch, even as someone who always has an eye on Lift, but then, he said as much himself. And I think I kinda started tunneling a bit there.

FWIW, rather than a summary case of his read on doc, I think rather than a new summary the best case is when he kept it simple in the original pass:

In 728 he lays out the core theory on why it looks like a slip to him

and in 797 makes a case for how Ix and doc could be connected.

I still don't think it, or doc's response, is a lock-tight as he seems to think, but I can see town!RW seeing it and deciding it needs to be addressed.

So in terms of reading current gamestate, I'm the one who's off here much more than him. This isn't me going for a derp-clear, nor do I think he's lock-town at the moment (though looks really good for him if babark flips wolf), but my suggestion that he should be in the mix for votes was just wrong.

I'm moving both RW and Stan to my safe pool for D1, for different reasons.

Fair enough, though it still seems odd to me.

If you refer to my query (which I assume you do) I don't really follow as to how this lays out expectations?

EBWOP, forgot a sentence there lol.

I mean. There are lots of reasons. It's just that they're edge cases, mostly.
Quite often I get the feeling I'm a smart player but not a very good player. Solving puzzles only goes so far; one still must employ the solutions correctly and at the right times to the actual game.

Ixamyakxim: Another little known fact about me - I also like lynching lurkers.
Pretend there's a rule that you can't vote Quad. He's governor or some shit. Who's your backup vote instead?

Side note, most have probably figured this out, but maj is now 8 with Sushi dead rather than 9, so babark is L-4, and looking likely to pick up 2-3 more votes.

The vote count looks pretty interesting regardless of which assumption you make: scum!babs or town!babs

lol, isn't that the exception that proves the point?

On another topic, how's that Lift wagon going for you? Pretty happy with it?
Hmm.

Hmm.

Babark has no substantive counterwagon.

Hmm.
