It's always good to see some love for classic games. I hope that Warcraft and Warcraft 2 will be released as well in the future. :)

sunshinecorp: He's just saying Diablo II sucks. There are people who think that. I think that too. But we don't all have to like the same things.
EDIT: Oh haha I'm an idiot. I thought we were still in the Diablo II thread. No, I don't think Warcraft 3 sucks, I quite like it. :)

snowkatt: i am the one saying that diablo II sucks
infrasuperman doesnt like warcraft 3
I know, I corrected my post afterwards!

InfraSuperman: No, I was referring to Warcraft 3. I'm not that big of a fan of Diablo 2, but I think it's alright.

i kinda doubt that
all of blizzards love goes to diablo II and warcraft 3
Good old WC3, I spent untold amount of time playing all the various custom scenarios/maps on Bnet, Risk Devo, Vampirism Fire, Night of the Dead (is that the one where you start being dropped off my a helicopter and you fight zombies?), Tower defense, Diplomacy style maps etc etc.

Good, good. Now Blizzard, can you do something similar about Diablo 1 and Warcraft 2, pretty please? Maybe do a digital release while we're at it?

blotunga: Thus the chances of seeing them here fade away in nothingness. Blizzard loves battle.net. And they sell 20 year old games for 20 euros without ever discounting them... So probably they wouldn't want GOG or anyone else eating in their profitssss.
Well at least they care about their older games, unlike Activision.

Considering the Warcraft movie is obviously setting up sequals imagine seeing the events of Warcraft 3 on the big screen?

This! At least the Warcraft 2 part because I still haven't beaten Beyond the Dark Portal :P

As for Warcraft 3, I really hope that they include proper support for widescreen resolutions. I wouldn't mind at all to finish my all-time favorite RTS in a properly proportioned 1920x1080

I hope I'm wrong, but as much as I love warcraft I just can't see how that film is going to be a success :(

The Warcraft 3 story definitely could make for a great film. I don't know whether it's been done before : A prince that loves his kingdom so much that he is prepared to pay any price to save it from a horrendous fate, only for him to end up paying with his own sanity to vanquish the threat. A price that proves too great and which leads him to turn on and destroy the very kingdom he was trying to protect.

It has 20 million views on its official trailer alone. That is alot of people to consider.

And the like ratio is quite high.

doesnt equate to 20 million actual customers

Yeah that is a lot, but like snowkatt says, that doesn't mean actual customers, and even if it does they're probably still some way off from getting a decent return on the production budget (I'm not really sure how a film ticket's price is divided between the parties involved), not to mention a return big enough to warrant sequels.
My worry is that the film's non-gamer audience will mostly be kids, and even among gamers there may very well be little interest because it's cool to rip on mmos and even under mmo players it's cool to rip on wow. At least that has always been my impression.
Like I said though, I hope that I'm wrong.
I guess Blizzard wants to remaster its old titles.

Thanks for the heads up. I got a WC3 battlechest key from a fellow gog'er a while back before trading was considered faux pas. Never seem to find the time to play through the whole thing, though.
