So I was having a think about Survival Kids.

The 1999 desert island survival sim made by Konami that later became Lost In Blue.

And you know, with the glut of utterly bland zombie based survival games that were a product of recent years, I was hoping to pick some gems from the night soil.

I was wondering how many other examples of non-apocalyptic survival games are out there.

I shouldn't have to explain this, but for a basic definition: Society cannot have already collapsed & cannot collapse during the game.
UnReal World
The world of the game is based on the ancient Finland in the late Iron Age.

Good one. I've played it. Very unique feel.
Would The Forest suffice? It's not a post-apocalyptic setting, however you are stranded on an island. You can play with/without cannibals on said island.
Don't Starve fits the bill, and it is excellent of course. Though there is no society to speak of, unless you're looking at Hamlet, or create your own pig/bunny village.

Balrum I think also qualifies, but I haven't played it so I'm not sure.

Banished is more of a city builder, but to me (and I don't think I'm alone) it feels a lot like a survival game.

Darkwood is a horror survival game, and an exquisite one at that, but I'm not sure if can be considered apocalyptic. I suppose it kind of is, depending on how you define it.

Subnautica is the game you are looking for. Available on Steeeem or EGS. No zombies, no killing or guns. Relaxing exploration/survival with a bit of mystery.

Well, I'm not looking for anything specific, just looking to maybe provide a bit of a color contrast.
Furthermore, I think Subnautica should be released here.

I agree, especially considering Unknown Worlds is an "indie" studio, not a AAA studio.

in my time with it, it really played a bit more like a casual Divine Divinity with some basic (and seemingly pointless) building and gathering.

I could be wrong, but isn't The Long Dark non-[post-]apocalypse?
I forgot about obvious classics - Robinson's Requiem and Deus - painful death simulators. :P

[nitpicky mode] they do have some cataclysm that happened in those parts to prop up the plot a bit.

depends really on what the OP is actually looking for. simply for the plot where there is no such device as an end of the world society? then TLD certainly qualifies. As eg Penumbra. Both have a distinctive PA feel tho, the latter at least.

or maybe he is just looking for more Robinson simulators ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Eggplant - Wait what were we talking about again?
