(no spoilers please in the replies)

While I was very hopeful a Witcher 4 would be made in any capacity (different world, characters, etc.) based off this artilce:

Perhaps I misread the article. CDR is focusing on Cyperpunk. I understand. But hopefully...someday... SOON...there will be another Witcher type game.

I get different tastes, I get passion, I get the comfort zone, I get the "wan't more of this world".

But the game was out last year, there's still expansions to come and here's sequel talk already.

I think people need to learn and have some closure and some patience.

Step out of the comfy zone once in a while, experiment with different things, try developing different tastes.
And if the thing that was expected never come out, move on or replay what was good already.
And if it does well... it's a win.

Plus get on with Cyberpunk 2077 already!! ><

They're still making DLC for the current game and are closing out the saga of Geralt. That, and as aforementioned, they're working on an awesome cyberpunk game.

As much as I enjoy the Witcher world, the last thing I want from CDProject is to become a milking machine. They should focus on Cyberpunk and make a sequel or two in that world in case it's successful and then move on again.

Wait for Cyberpunk 2077, it seems it will be a promising RPG project.

I've never heard anybody describe The Witcher 3 as a game of wasted potential, so based on everything else I've read about it, it seems like CDPR did full justice to their vision of a rich and mature fantasy world. Will it really need an update any time in the next 5 years?

I imagine the only thing that fans would want from a sequel is for it to follow standard progressions of game technology, like higher graphical fidelity, larger worlds, more dynamic AI, etc.

They're not done with The Witcher, but they're done with Geralt as the protagonist.

The next game they're working on is Cyberpunk 2077 (I hope we can customize our character this time) and after that we might get another Witcher game with a different main character, maybe it'll even be [spoiler]Ciri[/spoiler]. Almost the same, haven't played the first two games, but I pretty much know what happened in them anyway, then I started the third game to see how it runs on my PC and somehow played through the game. Almost played through Hearts of Stone, but there are so many NPC's I can't stand I just stopped.

I should do it like that more often. :D

Another similar story. I played through most of W1. I found the act that took part in the city pretty boring (it took me more than a year to get through it, with all the bad stuff connected with it, namely forgetting where I was, how I got there and what I was supposed to be doing next), and stopped playing completely soon after I got into the wilds again. And didn't touch W2 at all.

With W3, I thought I'd just quickly check to see how it runs on my computer (quite nice, when I don't insist on ultra-everything details). Next thing I know, I am standing before major turning point in the story where the plot pace picks up. No more slowly looking for clues, clear target ahead, most of the sidequests finished too. I left the game hanging there, I only read some light spoilers to have an idea how it continues, but I'm waiting for both expansions first. Then I'll probably just quickly finish it and do another playthrough on NG+, complete edition.

Basically the same, except I don't have Witcher 3. Started the first one dozens of times (bugs, glitches, HD loss, etc), and only plan to buy W3 when it's all complete (expansions) and when I'm fully satisfied not only with finishing the first two as finish any game I'll be playing by the time I add it to my library.

Like I've said, no needs for sequels everytime, people need to learn closure and/or patience.

I'd prefer if CDPR tried their hand at an original IP rather than rely on licenses.

No it will not have the witcher to 4. They will be devoted to the cyberpunk universe. But other games will come out the witcher kinds of spin off as "WITCHER ADVENTURE GAME".
