innerring: Anyone know when the GOG wallet feature will be live?
avatar
Cavalary: Well, you can sort of get there now if you buy something and then immediately ask for a refund in store credit. There's the one-year validity to consider though. And yeah, they'd need hardened security, two-factor authentication, that sort of thing, before implementing something like this more directly.
Thanks for the detailed answer.

Maxvorstadt: You`re welvome! Oh, by the way, do Paysafecards work now again in Greece?

Epitaph666: noooope...
I'm so desperate that i'm gonna lose the money, i was thinking to bet them on CS:GO or Dog Races...LOL
CS:GO? What`s that?
Come on, GOG. Whether it's a Fall sale or Insomnia, let's do it.
maybe they'll just drop the bomb :)

Hunter65536: Something like Steam wallet where you can load up cash beforehand so that, it can be used for a purchase rather than go through the payment gateway and stuff. I think it would be very helpful during an Insomnia sale. And yes, they didn't announce any particular time frame by when it would be done.

Maxvorstadt: And it would make the stealing of an account more profitable!
Precisely, but some people have trouble typing in 16 numbers once in a while, far easier to let someone else do it for them. I am just hoping this isn't integrated into the main part otherwise its just going to draw hackers here like flies.

Actually it would be convenient as I don't own a credit card. Storing credit would reduce the number of times I need to borrow one. :P
The best solution would be GOG supporting Ideal but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Like Omega64 said above, for someone like me who doesn't have credit card and paypal doesn't accept my debit cards so having that option would certainly make my life easier.

Hm, can`t you buy Paysafecards in India?

Nope, as far as I know. Even if I can get one, GOG only offers credit card and paypal as payment methods for India.

This is strange! There should also be a Paysafecard option.

I'm not seeing rupees on the currencies list.

Plus, a 6% to 8.5% real conversion fee (depending on whether it's to Euro or something else, seeing as the exchange rate tends to be 4-4.5% worse than the official one, on top of the 2-4% published fee) may well be greater than the risk of hacking.

This is how my checkout page looks.

Actually I wouldn't even mind all that if there was an option to do so and if Paysafe worked with my debit card. Unfortunately, GOG doesn't accept Paysafe cards in India.

Which means that I can get games on GOG only by trading. To be honest even that looks a bit bleak now given that Steam is about to introduce Indian Rupee and I have no idea if it would start restricting gifts which would be bad for me since I won't be able to trade anymore.

Have you tried to click on "change"?

Why I was saying no rupees on the list. If Paysafe would sell cards there, the currency would need to be listed on the conversion page.
