Don't think so. There is no insomnia sales any more.

That's not true, they've had one in March the last two years so there is a good chance they'll have another this year, but probably not this week.

I assume it's just the Wishlist sale running over a bit longer, I'm not sure how long it's supposed to be available?

About 5 hours left for Valentine sale.

In case of Insomnia - you're right. I thought there wasn't this kind of sale last year, but it's not true. Here is a list of sales with dates. It seems that usually we can expect Insomnia in March.

They might start a normal sale when this one finishes then, unless they have something else up their sleeve (like a big release tomorrow).

Yeah, it's no guarantee they will have another but as Insomnia is a big deal in the Gog community I can't see them dropping it completely (although I hope if they do have one it's a little more interesting than the previous two have been, the last one was particularly poor)

I remember being here during one Insomnia sale and, to be honest, I was a bit confused (perhaps it was caused by a lack of knowledge of titles and prices). Could you, please, explain what makes that sales such a interesting event? Are the prices really lower during that short periods? I mean - lower than prices in regular sales?

Seems to me the allure of insomnia was that split second opportunity to get something for free. I know I never did , but somewhere someone did.

Personally I don't know if they have tossed in freebies in the more recent ones cause honestly there is so little I want that I do not already have, and the likelihood of it being something I want as something free is slim to nil.

However there is something to be said for the engagement of it. Perhaps they could capitalize on that through galaxy and do something like create achievement quests that would say yield coupon codes. Just spitballing

It was a couple of things, the original Insomnia (and the second one I think) did have really good discounts, like 75 - 90% off some quite big games. The latter ones haven't had quite as much of a discount unfortunately.
But the other aspect was the community side, people tracking what games had already come up and what discounts they'd had, people buying games for others who missed the one game they were waiting for, plus the limited numbers and one deal at a time nature meant it was actually interesting to be here and keep checking in; as opposed to a traditional sale where all the games go on at once or are added in batches at set times.
It just created a very nice atmosphere around the sale which made it fun to be a part of.
There it is.

Double Insomnia (March '15) was a great sale, I thought, though it was the first such sale since I signed up, so I had not much frame of reference. :) But I'm pretty sure it had plenty of bigger titles for north of 70% off (I picked up Terraria for a rare 80% off, for example, and Banished for a then-high discount of 70%), and it was the last Insomnia to do the "click 'Buy now' and get a chance to get the game for free" lottery (which netted me 3 games!). Also, the fact that it featured two games in the flash discount section -- one "older", one "newer", basically -- made it a little more likely that one would happen to find something that interested them (though there were always the lower "normal sale" discounts to fall back on if the featured deals of the moment didn't trip one's trigger; I don't recall if last year's Insomnia even had the other, not-currently-featured stuff discounted at all).

Yeah, the Sleepy Sheep Insomnia Sale (March '16) was pretty dull, and had some bizarre artificial restrictions: no direct way to go to a featured game's store page, only to "buy now"; some weird restriction regarding store credit (either you were forced to use it first, or you couldn't use it at all -- didn't affect me, so I can't remember which). The mostly unremarkable flash discounts you mentioned in your other post were definitely a thing in this sale, coupled with even smaller quantities of most games than in previous Insomnia sales...though that at least kept less-desirable games from forming an hours-long logjam like in those prior Insomnias.
In six hours ?

Nope. Up now.

Ah yes. I was confused by the slight delay and the fact that the previous weekly sale ends up in six hours. Didn't expect the overlap, for some reason (makes sense, though, since the weekly pick merged with the weekend promo).
We're watching you, GOG...
Sale incoming? >_>
