No one uses GoG, nor will people ever use this platform. I literally only use this because there is a game I want to buy, but I can only buy it here. However this platform is sooo crappy that I actually have to pirate the game just to play it.

Steam is an evil villain within the game economy, yet it is still infinitely better than this.

REMOVE/FIX CAPTCHA OR I WILL TERRORIZE THIS WEBSITE.

Maybe you just aren't smart enough to solve the captcha ? did you ever think of that.

We'll be there to stop you... :P But seriously, captcha is not that hard. It needs a little patience, that's true, but I never had problems with it. Are you sure that you don't have plugins in your browser that block some elements on GOG?

It's a frequently observed and documented phenomenon that if Google decides that you're not human (through successfully avoiding all of their tracking, and probably some other factor, as it doesn't happen to everyone who blocks all Google tracking), "solving" their captcha won't actually allow you through, but they'll simply keep giving you more and more puzzles. This is not the fault of the original poster here, but squarely on gog for choosing the lazy and customer-unfriendly approach of going with recaptcha.

Not that it'll do much good, but voting for the community wishlist entry "Nip google Captcha in the bud" is probably going to have more positive effect than spamming the forum.

Sarafan: needs ... patience
Well, there's the actual problem.

To address your title: I guess that could be said about everything.

To adress your post: Are you sure the problem isn't between the chair and monitor?

I'm not like most of the diehards here, I think Steam is alright. I prefer my games to be DRM free so I can always play them. Steam and GOG can go down and I know I'll be able to play the games I downloaded from GOG. I have old computers. A bunch of them were purchased when they were current. Because Windows 10 was supposed to be the final Windows operating system, they changed a lot of the compatability some of the games had. GOG just sells the games. The devolper is the one who needs to update the game wo work always. It would be like going to Walmart and demanding them to make the Nintendo DS game work on your Nintendo Switch. That would be between you and Nintendo. The game you are talking about is between you and the developer.

I think Steam and GOG do their best to inform the customer about potential issues. They both have links to the forum on every game page. Both have a message on games that won't work with certain operating systems. I've purchased games on both that people said that wasn't working and found that it works just fine with my main computer. I've bought other games where everyone says is just working great but I needed to change computers it's installed on and find workarounds for.

The dumbest workaround I've ever had was on Steam for Diner Dash. The game crashes when you start it up. The Workaround: Delete the video files that play on startup. It was such a shame that I'm no longer able to view the minute and half of various hardware and software videos the devlopers put on there to extend the time it takes to actually get to the menu screen.

I guess I'm just old and work with old software and hardware. Workarounds and whatnot are just something I just never think about and just do. I often forget that some people just don't want to tinker around with stuff. That's fine and all. Just ask what you need to make whatever work and don't go all super rage mode. Sometimes it's remove a file, add a file, or both.

I dunno, I seem to be using GOG. Maybe it’s just me and everyone else is a figment of my imagination.

Google Captcha is annoying. Partially i block google as much as i can, so having to enable it to do anything is annoying on a first step. But also the rules of 'matching' isn't clear. Do i match any reference of a sidewalk? does 1 pixel over count? The front or the back or both of traffic lights? Do you include people on motorcycles?

I've done the captcha several times in a row and failed because these rules aren't clear. Then there's cases of 'match the car' and there's no car anywhere, instead being a sign or something unrelated. I've included one such that happened a while ago.

I understand the need for captcha, but it seems it like DRM is just annoying customers rather than doing what it is intended to do.

If you're a figment of my imagination, and he says no one uses it...

*GASP* I'm a figment of my imagination!

*Mind blown!*
