An article on rock paper shotgun maybe of interest to people who miss the game. Seems there is a way that you can download 1st and 2nd game with community patches, widescreen support. This is a very grey area so not including a link to the game pages itself but to the rock paper shotgun article for people to make up their own minds.

I'll have to download these I soon as I reach home, 9 hours from now. Let's hope that the exposure from RPS's article doesn't get the links taken down before I get to do that. +1

I'm kind of tempted to download them so I can finally play them, but I'm still holding out on an official release and don't really wanna risk getting a virus from this sort of thing.

Still, I give the author credit for being brazen enough to do something like this.
It's not a grey area, it's a pitch black area.
I will be buying the games if they ever get out of legal hell. I do have the original game boxed away and did buy the 2nd game when it was first released they are really good games and defiantly worth re buying.

Smannesman: It's not a grey area, it's a pitch black area.
Wouldn't it be pitch black if somebody was actively selling the linked content, while the IP was currently being marketed by the right's holders?

In this case I would say that it's slightly less than a grey area.

Pretending it's not illegal is definitely more than grey, not less.
I'm not saying people shouldn't pirate, but at least have the decency to admit it.

Do you have the decency to admit that legality is a hideously twisted and odious creature in need of a dirt nap?

If by that horrible sentence you mean that certain laws should be re-examined and either redefined or gotten rid of entirely, than yes.

Very good, then, but do check your grammar, sir, because grammar matters.

I wasn't claiming that me downloading the games was in any way justified, because I might be entitled to them due to the current status of the trademark. Neither was I pretending I wouldn't be pirating the game when I'll inevitably be downloading it soon(five hours from now). So let's not jump to conclusions and make accusations about decency. I'll just assume you're having a bad day.

You claim it's more than grey, I say it's less. To each his own. The very OP includes the advice that people should: "...make up their own minds".
