I hate your "movies" so much GOG, why won't you release more? :)

(I actually love GOG's movies, own most, hope to see more some day.)

Smannesman: Gamer?
That is a pretty nifty movie.
Last time I heard it was a movie criticizing video games for their violence while being itself a movie that tried to reel people in with ridiculous amounts of violence.

Oh it's pretty bad, but bad in a good way.
We won't know until GOG announces something officialy. I would guess a low interest. But that might be because of GOGers having too high expectations (hollywood movies, really?). Steam seems to do fine with their (probably DRMed) movies but they sneaked that feature in quitely. I don't know...

Anyways I might be wrong. And even if I'm not, maybe remarketing (changing the focus of advertising for the movie offer - like better explaining which type of movies should GOGers expect) might change the demand.

Yup, classic.

I own only 6 (not counting the freebies), but that doesn't mean I wouldn't be interested in buying more. Only I'm a bit picky about indie movies. I would have to have heard about it or already watched it and liked it. Especially if the topic is something like zombies. :P

Anyways, talking about indies... Don Coscarelli's movies are mostly non-hollywood and most of them have a cult status: Phantasm, Bubba Ho-Tep, John Dies at the End. Evil Dead series are published by Reneissance pictures owned by Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbel and Don Tagert. I don't think those are necessarily under scrutiny of hollywood. It might be possible to cut the deal with at least some indie / cult B production movie producers. But honestly GOG would have to take pro-active stance on this and would probably have to separate it from gaming site. I think many companies might be appaled from publishing on GOG if movies are not aimed at gaming or nerd market (just my opinion, doesn't have to be true).

Anyway, I'm fanboying now as I just discovering Coscarelli is filming another Phantasm (according to IDMB). :O

With 90 years old Scrimm as the tall man. :-|
Anyways, forgot the point: GOG should just explain they are interested in publishing mostly indie games on gaming so people don't expect impossible. :)

They are all much older now. Reggie and Michael too. :) It will be good. Or at least it will be good enough. :)

I wonder if the actors still have balls of steel to make this good?

RadonGOG: ...really, this shocking! Superhero Me, which is the latest addition to GOGs "movie" catalog, was released on April 17th...
http://www.gog.com/forum/general/movie_release_superhero_me_5b935
Three months, a quarter of a year, over ninty days have passed since the last addition---and no sign whatsoever that "real" (sorry about telling you the inconvenient truth...) movies are folding in!

I´m disappointed, although I really don´t know where I should point...
That's just because none of you bought any! There, you should all sit down in the corner, feel ashamed, and think about what you did ( or didn't, rather ).

Don't look at me now -- I bought the whole "Gamers" set and one other... movie thing. That will have to do!

Last thing I heard, I thought it was already ( mostly done )... ? I'm a big fan of his work, especially his Phantasm series, so I hope it will come out soon.

Nothing personal, but if you're implying it's somehow a bad thing that Angus and the other actors are back to perform their trademark roles one last(?) time, then fuck you very much. :|

Possibly. I'm skeptical about Scrimm being able to "be" the Tall Man nowadays. I'd also be skeptical about another actor taking this role. I don't care that much about the other characters, to be honest, but the tall man presence is really what made a lot of the film's impact.

I'd be surprised if they really managed to still get the tense surreal horror of the first film. Just the idea of an aged tall man feels weird (like an aged terminator, or an aged freddy kruger, or whatever). But we'll see,.

I don't look at it from a "let them toy once more with their roles" angle, but from a "can we actually get (or expect to get) an new phantasm movie". For instance, I know we can't get a new indiana jones one...

I'm not worried. For one thing what did the Tall Man actually do in the films? All he did was standing or walking around looking strange and menacing. If he still can walk, stand and act with his face (Stone face pretty much.) then he'll do fine.
Kinda depressing. Admittedly I only bought two movies so far but that's more about the nature of the movies here than the idea of buying movies from GOG. I hope GOG isn't going to back out of this entirely. :/

Me too, me too. :)

Although, I haven't even heard of it 'till now. Last time I checked, the new movie was still very unlikely. Or at least they wanted us to believe that. :)

Me too. I actually liked the idea. I hope they will still find a way to make it work.

I did. Gotta love the rubber arms, faces, legs and all other rubbery things from the old horror films. :D
