Don't go exploring on foot - your shiny new vehicles await!

No Man's Sky, the open-space exploration game where you adventure across an infinite universe, is getting its second massive chunk of free content, called The Path Finder Update.

Building upon the previous Foundation Update, Path Finder is the largest content pack to date, bringing numerous improvements and additions. Chief among them is, of course, the option to traverse the land on a vehicle that you can summon anytime upon your home planet! But there's a lot of other cool stuff here, namely:

- Planetary Vehicles: Build up to 3 of these aforementioned crafts at your base.
- Vehicle Upgrades: Pimp your ride with extra acceleration, traction, a scanner for points of interest, or deadly weapons.
- Improved Visuals: High-res textures, improved visuals and 4K rendering on supported hardware.
- Permadeath Mode: Challenge yourself to reach the center without dying!
- Exocraft Races: Construct, race and share tracks to test vehicles to their limits.
- Dozens of new upgrades for weapons and tech.

That's not all, though! There are gameplay improvements, rebalanced difficulty, a photo mode to help capture all the surrounding beauty, base improvements, and much more waiting for you inside this Path Finder Update. To find out more, watch the neat trailer below or head over this way.

£15 or less and I'd give it some consideration. Even the PS4 version can be got for less than that.

kohlrak: Even with this discount, it's hardly worth buying when there are better alternatives like Parkan 1 and 2, which are different than NMS, are much closer to the NMS advertisements than NMS is.
Unfortunately, most alternatives are not available on GOG.

I do agree the base price is far off.

amund: Does this game have side missions?

anothername: Its not a story/mission based game. Its a galactic safari/exploration/sandbox. Do what you want.

Just make sure to buy it with an account name you can stand as name for your explorer if you care about such things.
Thanks, not sure it's for me then.

trusteft: Great.
One of my favorite parts of my favorite Mass Effect game (1) is the planet exploration with a vehicle and on foot. I am glad this has now came to NMS.

One thing I am confused about is the whole creating a base though. I mean...if you keep traveling towards the center, what's the point of creating a base anywhere on a planet? But, that's just me. It's good to have options.

ArakirSirent: You have a portal on each spacestation which you can use to travel to your base. Then you can use it to return back.
Ah, that makes more sense. Thank you.
BTW, have they added the "mothership" yet?

Good to see they're still working on No Man's Sky, and adding more ( free ) content. I enjoyed it, despite its shortcomings, and with each major new update I'm itching to give it another chance.

The base price is still off, but it's worth some 20 to 40 bucks, if the idea of a vast, slow-paced Space exploration game sounds appealing to you.

Sniskerbobberton: Yeah, I can't believe the regular price is £40, someone is insane in the membrane.

This game should've been marketed as an early access game not a fully fledged release.
You probably have a point. There are many similar Survival/Exploration/Crafting games, which are still in "Early Access" and yet offer greater gameplay depth. Probably would have reduced some of the fallout, if people knew from the start that they're buying an incomplete game. ( And of course the price should have been adjusted accordingly. )

I realy want to try it someday, but it's still too expensive...

I mean... even the PS4 version is cheaper....

In the previous big patch there was a freighter + customization for it of some kind added. Not sure if thats considered the mothership.

I think I may need to add "Make a +100 button available in the forums" to the GOG wishlist.
Awesome! I LOVE No Man's Sky, had a lot of fun. The only thing I couldn't tolerate was the random crash to desktop from time to time. Nothing like exploring on foot for 2 freaking hours just to lose it all because you have to reach the goddamn spaceship to save.

I will try it again and see if that got fixed.

Smannesman: Hmmm if this was the regular price and then it went 40% off, it would be really tempting.
Thats what I was thinking!

Actually, since the Foundation update it is possible to build small save points wherever one may be.
It's still too expensive.
I went on steam earlier today and someone was complaining the game is never on sale in their forums so I posted its 40% off on gog and not to soon after that steam put on the %40 discount. I guess that makes sense its same game so is on sale both sites.

Right if they get it down to $20 bucks in the future or less I might take a gamble with it, $15 or less would be better, just give it another year or two I guess. I heard the multiplayer for the game has tanked. Maybe I won't want it in a year or two because something better comes out. So many negative comments on the actually variety of the game I don't really want get it right now.
