Hello

It's been a very long time since we've seen the intervention of a community manager on the gog forums.

There are no community managers?

Because the gog staff must be said is almost no longer present on the forum.

And this silence towards the community worries me a lot because it seems that gog leaves aside the social part with his community.

Lukin86: No gog staff present on the gog forum
Well, they are still around, since they removed a bunch of spammers lately.
That they don't interact...is kinda understandable.
If they show up in a thread, they usually get swarmed by people with complaints (to which they have no solution, besides "please contact our support team") and/or questions, which they can't (aren't allowed to) answer, etc.

Edit: also - it was holiday season. Many were (some still are?) probably not in office.

Oh, they are around, I assure you... lurking, like GOGBears in the forum walls :P.
they are around just really quiet
which is a blessing and a curse in equal measure.
Yes personally it worries me because the silence makes you think that gog has abandoned his community. And only think about releasing games and leaving the side of social exchanges aside.

Uh the gog.com employees are not abandoning this community.

They are here lurking silently.
I highly doubt they are hidden. Because given the job cuts already at the support level replaced by a bot. I'm afraid they are also attacked at the community and social level.

When a mad GOGBear commando jumps out of a forum bush and attacks you, don't tell us we didn't warn you :P.

Lukin86:
Moderators are here, they killed bunch of advert threads even if with 12 hours delay. Community manager locked a thread 2 days ago. And the NEWS threads are not created by themselves.

Everything is fine.

Personally I don't find it. We no longer have any exchanges with the gog staff. I find since 2021. A real barrier seems to have been forged between us and gog. Having a support member is super hard because of the bot.

And discussed with the staff on the staff also become very difficult since they keep silent.

While gog's strength was this contact with the community.

It started in 2021 and has since gotten worse with the hitman affair then the removal of regional staff like the French staff. And continued until today where we can even talk more with the English staff even on this forum.

Well back in the day GOG mods were frequent guests even on Russian forum. To me personally I noticed the detioration of user-to-GOG communication years ago. A few years ago some frequent GOG mods just dissapeared, some even from the system completely [user deleted], some retained their GOG accounts but became dormant. And if you check the now archived forums from 2008-2009 you might notice how many GOG users there were with still active accounts which you have never seen before | since.

I didn't know GOG removed the French staff. It seems that CD Project was hit hard financially soon after they paid their tops money from CP 2077 game and cancelled a few projects. I've heard rumors about CD Project searching for a potential buyer. True or not but financially GOG seen better days, plus world economic is in decline and everything is political now.

So we need to hope for the best. That people at GOG will deal with it in the best interests of their users.

I personally miss the times when I could have regular chat with GOG mods or checking on what Judas would post.
If we can still remember something good about GOG then nothing is lost.

The moderators are always there, I don't worry, they are volunteers.

But the staff itself of gog no longer intervenes on the forum whereas a few years ago as you say, there were exchanges. We don't even have

Even the community manager whose job is to make the link between gog and we have to say has disappeared (last intervention dates from December 24, almost 1 month).

Looks like the gog staff want to cut all ties with their community. Because the gog and community link as well as the exchange between gog and the community was one of the main strengths with the sale of drm free games for the store.

Was the support bot added, because of cut jobs? If you work in the tech industry you be surprised how many companies use support bots. It's almost becoming a standard.

The problem is that the bot does not solve the problem we have and it is difficult for the bot to transmit the information to the staff.

Regretfully, I now avoid contacting support and if the problem is direct reimbursement.

Human contact has almost disappeared between gog and us.

It's not the same company. It'd be like importing expectations about EA from the deluxe paint amiga era. GOG used to be some sort of semi-idealistic passion project in the hands of driven and vaguely crazy people (the kind who felt free to do the "gog closes" stunt and the monk penitence). It was humane and humane-scaled, full with Judas and TET and little enthusiastic weekly videos and whatnot.

Now it's grown into a corporate technocracy. Decisions are strictly derived from excel charts and could be implemented by AIs. Not sure which one of their accountants or lawyers you'd like to interact with on the forums, but I don't think you'd find much to discuss.
