Hi,

I'm reporting on an issue which occurs every time I try and install Witcher 3 on my windows 10. After the installation is complete and the GOG galaxy client is installed, all the folders in my pc including file explorer and even control panel won't open ever again. the game itself runs properly but when I try and open any other folder, the mouse cursor flashes busy for few seconds and then the desktop blinks once, and everything stays the same without my intended folder/control panel page opening. This problem continues as long as I have the game installed and since I can't open control panel, I can't also uninstall the game, making me resetting my pc all over which is very annoying.
I would appreciate it if anyone can suggest any potential solutions to this problem

Sounds like you meant to post this in the Witcher 3 forum section. This is general discussions. https://www.gog.com/forum/the_witcher_3_wild_hunt

You'd need to include your system specs before you could get a proper diagnostics. Hardware and software, everything you know about your computer. And is your copy downloaded from here or did you grab a pirated version? Because what you're describing sounds like it could be from a virus if it's causing your system to be inoperable.

OS: Windows 10 pro
processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz
RAM: 24.0 GB
System type: 64-bit operating system, x64 based processor
GPU: 2x Geforce GTX 770 (SLI mode)

I should also add that I have purchased the game as original DVDs with legitimate packaging and activation number, it doesn't seem to me to be fake in any way!

Alright. And your Windows, that's not pirated either right? Just asking because many people I know do that without any hesitation. And have you used your code to activate it on here? Do you install it from discs or do you download the copy from GOG and then install? Also check your temperatures and make sure any of your hardware isn't going faulty.

With that much RAM you could actually run it through a virtual machine btw. Not that it's ideal but any type of sandbox mode would prevent damage to your system just in case it can't be solved.
You say you installed it through Galaxy.. have you tried installing just using the installers (or the disk)?

I know there have been some odd bugs with Galaxy in the past so I wouldn't be surprised if this happened to be something like that (a pretty serious one too by the sounds of it..)

If that does turn out to be the case you should definitely report it to GoG so they can look into it and fix it.

My windows is also genuine and I install the game using the disks however it automatically installs the gog client as well, and it ruins everything (Im only speculating the gog client is doing this, it might be the game itself)

For what it's worth, I saw something similar happen when I installed Acrobat V Kit "AcrobatAppVKit_1500820082_all_DC.msi".

I never found any reason online for it happening, but I uninstalled the program and the computer worked fine afterward. Happened on both Windows 7 and Windows 10.

Try rebooting Windows in safe mode and uninstall.
