Anyhow: I have a certain limited respect for TotalBiscuit, both as one of the earliest still-operating YouTube "op-ed" commentators, and as someone who expresses himself in a thoughtful and mature manner, which is more than can be said for 99% of the gaming commentators out there, who largely have nothing to contribute except poorly informed opinions and shit for brains.

On that note, and beyond the above, the word of such YT "influencers" is worth precisely "fuck all" as far as I'm concerned. Like so-called professional publications, they are not above being paid to express a certain opinion, only it's not always clear that they're being paid. Certain game publishers have used them in the past to circumvent journalistic standards.

TotalBiscuit also thought that "One Finger Death Punch" was fun. So did everyone else who ever played the game for more than a few seconds.

And still it got rejected by gog "curators". Maybe because the devs had failed to put "rougelike" in their product description.

As long as GOG puts a limit to the number of games they can/will release, they will find any excuse to not bring a game here. It's their store and their rules. It's just too bad that the only alternative nowadays is Steam.

For smaller indie games, itch.io is another alternative, and I believe most of the games there are DRM-free. There's even the occasional game there that can be played within the browser without a purchase or download (like the Dialogue 3D (parody of Wolfenstein 3D) game that I linked to in another thread).

Also, Humble Bundle still does offer some of its games DRM-free.

Does anyone know whether itch.io specifies whether a game is DRM-free or not?
A lot of good games there, and a lot of them free.

However, you'll find browser games over there. Whether you get a Steam key or whatever is shown on the game's page, and also the available platforms.

There are several.
For example, The Fan, Rise Of Balloons, Lethis: Daring, Lines that I have on my wishlist. But I've seen more. And more recently he also liked Aztez or West of Loathing that I've talk about before, among others. I don't know about West Of Loathing, but Aztez was drm-free in humble and itch.io on release, so if it's not here...

I ended up buying One Finger Death Punch from Humble Bundle because I gave up waiting for it to show up here. Would have bought it here in a second. I wouldn't want a game that's only in shades of red.

That same Biscuit acknowledged in his video that the game was highly buggy on release, so that *might* have been the reason why it didn't land here on day 1.

For what I could see in that video the game seems pretty fun as it stands now, so I don't see any reason for GOG not to reconsider their decision about its inclusion.
