This is true and I find it hard to understand why do people criticise the downsides of social media even though all these problems could be simply alleviated by following only select individual. Furthermore, this is a default mode for most such media as you need to willingly 'follow' or 'observe' someone to see what that person has to say. 'Stupid' or 'toxic' content is everywhere, be it oral communication, books, newspapers, TV, movies and video games. People tend to pick sources they use, so there is no point in doing the same thing with social media. You see what you want to see. No, it is still a hammer. Tool can be used in many different ways.
