LIke seriously How are normal people supposed to gift games for people already on hereon here?

it wants payment methods I have never heard of...

This is why steam is the market leader seriously it just accepts debit cards...

Shame ...Drm free would have been nice.
I've paid for all my games with a card. Have you tried turning international transactions on?

Most "normal people" (at least in the UK, where you're located - as am I) have at least one credit card.

If you don't, then these are your options:

"We currently support the following payment methods: credit cards, PayPal, paysafecard, SOFORT, Giropay, webmoney, iDeal, Skrill, Alipay, UnionPay, WeChat, BLIK, Przelewy24, Apple Pay and Google Pay."

Out of those, I would be surprised if you have "never heard of" PayPal (which I believe does allow use of a debit card). However, unless you've got a spending or debt problem, just get a credit card. They're free and provided you pay them off each month in full will improve your credit score.
I cannot buy a game as a gift, why? - GOG Support Center

Open a support ticket and see if they can help. The support article doesn't detail when a support agent might be able to help. All I can tell you is that these restrictions exist to prevent fraud.

My suggestion is to opt either for Paysafecard or simply gift cash in a festive envelope.

You've never heard of Visa or Mastercard?

I think you are all deliberately missing the point ....

I want to buy a game for someone else

Can't do it. Does not pass go does not collect 200

Your opening post is the cause of the confusion; you went off on a tangent about "normal people" and "payment methods I have never heard of".

That being said, Ice Mage answered the question you've now clarified you were asking.

Quoted from the link he posted:

"As stated in Checkout, in order to gift games, your account needs to have purchases worth at least $10 / €9.19 / £6.69 / A$13.99 / 55 DKK / 70 NOK / 65 SEK / 30 PLN / C$ 10 / 10 CHF made at least 3 months ago.

Unfortunately we are unable to lift this limitation. However, in some cases we might be able to help manually. Please contact us via the support form for more information."

As you have no purchased games on your account and your registration date is December 2022, I conclude you have not spent at least £6.69 at least 3 months ago, so you cannot purchase a gift at this time.

If you contact support you may be able to get them to allow this for you, but I doubt you'll be able to get them to help until after Christmas.

UK debit cards must be different then because at least my debit card (Mastercard) works just fine in GOG.
so, normal visa doesnt work any more?
I only buy through debit card on GOG and never once had a problem with it (Mastercard).

OP has caused a lot of confusion here with an emotive post, although it's good to hear that debit cards do actually work! Finishing the opening post with "This is why steam is the market leader seriously it just accepts debit cards..." didn't help matters either - as it both makes it look like he's asking about Debit cards and also makes it less likely that people will feel inclined to help.

It turns out he's upset because he's got a new account, never bought anything from here before, and can't buy a gift code. The FAQ covers this situation.

You havent been here long enough to buy gift codes. You need a purchase of 10 Euro or $10, and wait 3 months.
I have received small gifts in the form of someone buying me wallet credits. That worked just fine as long as they made sure the 'forget my card details' is unchecked.
You know, I understand there are the odd restrictions but I really don't get how people can be so bad at commerce.
