Hello,

so I bought Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines yesterday. When I first tried to pay via PayPal, I got an error message. Tried it again, this time it worked. The game was listed twice (two different receipts) in my order & settings list, one paid, one not.
So I removed the one that was not paid.

The game is displayed as "paid", but I didn't get any confirmation email by GoG, which never happened before.
It also took several hours for the game to appear in GoG Galaxy in the first place.

I'm a bit worried their servers messed up the failed receipt and the correct one. I thought about giving the game back and buying it again, but I'm afraid it makes things worse.

The receipt for the game is shown under Orders & Settings, but it really stresses me out I didn't get any normal confirmation email. Which leaves me worried sth went wrong.

I do not know the reason, but sometimes these emails are in spam, have you try the spam folder?
GOG was having some problems yesterday. I couldn't even access my orders and settings page until today, and I am missing a couple of emails for game codes I redeemed (even if they showed up just fine in my library, despite an error message when redeeming them).

I don't know if this is a result of that, so I'll probably submit a help request, just in case.

As long as it shows up in your account, all went well.

Yeah, better not making more of a mess, than it already is.
If you feel really insecure about this, contact support and tell them about the issue (the missing confirmation email in particular) and ask them, whether they can re-send that email.

But since...

the confirmation email shouldn't really be necessary (though I get, why you want it).

However: what I would do in your place:

- download the game you paid for (just to be on the safe side)
- make a screenshot of the receipt under "Orders & Settings" (also just to be on the safe side)
- save that screenshot inside the game's download folder, so that you have always access to it.

That way, your paid game can't disappear and you can always prove your purchase (even without having the confirmation email).

But again:
if you're so stressed out about the missing email - simply ask support to re-send it (attach the screenshot of the confirmation under "Orders & Settings" to your request - may quicken things up).

As others have said: there were some connection issues yesterday, so stuff probably didn't go exactly as usual on GOG's side.
Hey,
thanks for the quick reply and the understanding words. I tend to be a bit obsessive about stuff like that haha.

I did exactly what you described, downloaded the game now and also took a screenshot of the receipt under "Orders & Settings".

My Paypal payment definitely fits the receipt number of the game, so I'm pretty certain everything worked fine, except the auto confirmation email.

I contacted support and told them about the situation and also added the screenshot.
They haven't replied yet, but I think everything should be fine.

Probably just a hiccup on their side that delayed the whole purchase and kinda broke the auto email response.
You mentioning connection issues definitely makes me a bit calmer, once the email is there everything should be perfectly fine I guess.
And even without, I can still see the receipt on the website. :)

A reply by an actual staffer (= besides the automatically sent "we got your email") may take a few days to several weeks.
So you better don't expect this to be resolved tomorrow.
Just a little heads up. :)
That's a bummer, but at least I can play the game ^_^
