I didn't know who is Phoenix Wright.
After googling it, I realized he was actually Naruhodo-kun! in Gyakuten Saiban in Japan.lol.
Capcom made the series complicated.
I played all of Gyakuten games, highly recommend them(of course, you must play them in order).

kusumahendra: Zelda Minish Cap

JamesBond007: Good Zelda game, but avoid the European version (unless you don't care about 100% completion) - it has a major development oversight - one of the bomb bag upgrades (in the shop) cannot be obtained at all.

Mother 3 is good, but only in Japanese (unless you find a repro cart with English fan translation).
That is one weird bug.
About Zelda though, I prefer Zelda game where Link is a boy rather than young adult. Perhaps because kid protagonist has every right to be silly, and.I love childish element of Zelda

zeogold: Allow me to clarify:
When I said "any", I meant "all". You should get all of them.

But seriously though, you might run into some story issues that don't make sense if you play them out of order.

bad_fur_day1: That's true, it was; PLAY THEM. ALL OF THEM!!!!111!!!

I am, starting at number 2. :P It will be fine, I'll muddle through it. Or read the first story online or something if I get too lost.
You could watch the movie, I guess. People speak of it like it's pretty alright.

But I watched the director's other videogame adaptation, and I hate that movie more than any other I've ever seen.

So, be warned, you're on your own here.

EDIT: There's also a recent anime that I just remembered, I know nothing of that one though.

Scored 999, very rare around these parts, probably most parts. I know what I'll be playing on the weekend.

Someone with good taste brought them in, they also had;

Hotel Dusk 1 and 2
Ghost Trick
Devil Survivor
Ace Attorney 3 I think, with the different guy
Advance Wars
Four Professor Laytons, I didn't realize there was a fourth. I have the first two, the second I'm stuck on.

The games got a FANTASTIC localization job for English-speaking audiences, and in the process, pretty much everything got entirely renamed (if I remember correctly, "Gyatuken Saiban" actually translates to something like "turnabout trial").

bad_fur_day1: Ghost Trick
I'd advise nabbing this one.

I might be able to help you out if you tell me what it is you're stuck with.

It's brutal, I don't like cheating or using walkthroughs so please don't tell me, but it's Pandoras Box puzzle 118 Garbage Disposal.

But I'll ask if you have completed it without cheating? I've been stuck on it for about a month

Some tips might be good.

I've followed the Hints and completed it up to that point but after that it's very challenging indeed. And I gave it my very best shot.

118? That's actually one of the easier ones if I remember correctly. Let me see if I can break out my 3DS and give it a quick go.

I finished Curious Village, easy? The hardest one I've run into for sure.

I could possibly be following the hints wrong, they can be a bit misleading, which might have wound me up in a undo-able situation even though I think I'm on the right track.

Ok, I just redid it.
I'll try to see if I can give you clues which don't reveal too much.

The first thing you're gonna want to do is finagle it however you can to get that yellow L-shaped block entirely into the trashcan. After you get it in there, leave it. It's going to stay there until the very end.

Yep, I think after I've followed all the hints, the yellow block is in the garbage can, the top two "L" shaped blocks are sitting in either side area flush against the walls. The remaining green block and small blue block are sitting above the yellow one in the bin. Then it says you can finally drag the rubbish out of the top area. I can't seem to swap the yellow block in the bin with the rubbish.

zeogold: You sick monster. 2 barely even makes sense without having played 1 first. There's a whole bunch of references and recurring characters.
avatar
bad_fur_day1: Very sorry Mr. Wright, Attorney sir. Zeo did say GET ANY OF THEM!111!!!

His fault. I'm just happy with any of them.
hmm well.. you can try Dual Destinies (3ds) without playing any PW game. There's a reference but you'll be ok. But games like PW juctice for all requires the 1st PW indeed.

so I read you got 9 doors 9 persons 9 hours? awesome! I would like to pick that one too. Hard to find here where I live! congrats

That makes much more sense, I can practically hear him going "naruhodo!", not to mention the potential for the name jokes. I hate localizations.

It had to be Miike heh. He still makes films faster than I can watch them. IMDB says a JoJo adaptation is his latest project...I'm almost kinda excited. But what other film you have in mind? I'm listing through them, and nothing rings a bell.

Thanks, it was a gem to find that.

I read the Phoenix Wright's are pretty standalone in the fact that he has amnesia at the start of number two to help with that. Generally developers will count for the fact people may be starting with sequels.

But they kept the name pun, his name is Wright, right?

It's the adaptation of the first Yakuza game. Named Ryu ga Gotoku in Japan.

True, but I can't remember any wrightheous puns, while he is constantly using [some version of] "I get it now".

6.3 on IMDB, about on par for him. Do you like his other stuff?
