I'm actually pissed because my review for Lamplight city is no longer on top ;-)
They should at least have factored in the ratio of positive/negative ratings for reviews.
I agree with you how lame it is number of owned games is shown next to the name of reviewer.
Shoddy work from Gog, disappointing. I don't see the point of this redesign.

fronzelneekburm: Nope, still gone.
Logging in and out did it for me, for some reason. Have you tried doing that?
Seems that the autoplay has stopped for me. Fingers crossed that it stays that way.

Yup, still nothing. Check the game page for Outlast Whistleblower. It only displays 2 reviews, it should be considerably more than that.

There were people - me included - who disabled their profiles over this.

I can't help but think this particular change is yet another malicious attempt to push Galaxy. After all, what's the point of disabling your profile now? Everyone and their dog can see your stats anyway.

Not working well in Internet Explorer...

Yes, I can only see two reviews. Although, the fact that mine suddenly came back means that the reviews haven't been deleted, but are currently not being shown for whatever reason. Weird bug.

Lucumo: What's with the giant buy button? What's with the messy language overview? Wastes a lot of space and only shows English as default? It also feels like it's more a mobile site than one for a desktop PC (start using all the free space, especially if you spread things even more out for no reason!).
avatar
ciemnogrodzianin: It's definitely not for mobile. Have you tried it on mobile? It's complete mess requiring 7-8 taps to check all the game info which previously was available with just scrolling down... I didn't realized that mobile experience may be even worse than before :(
I don't do mobile. But yeah, it seems they really messed up then if the desktop site is mobile-like while the mobile site is straight up terrible.

fil-cat: 4.) The video and picture overlay from the screenshot previous resize badly. On the browser it might work, but in Galaxy it is often to big and buttons got tucked behind the top menu bar or so. E.g. I like my Galaxy window to be not full-screen, infact I like it reasonably small. If you know click on screenshot previous, they are that big that the canceling button (that little X in the top right corner, is behind the transparent menu bar in the top. I can't click it. I have to maximize Galaxy in order to be able to reach it to click it. Sometimes not even that is possible (e.g. Indiana Jones' previous pic is so big that it even get's tucked behind when I go full-screen with Galaxy)
While I only use Galaxy for playing games...yeah, my window is reasonably small as well. So I guess it's probably messed up for me too then.

fil-cat: 1.) Suddenly GoG looks and feels a lot different. OK, one could live with it if it would be for the better, but it isn't:
- This insane playback video is really big and distracting. A little understatement would do good.
- That buy-botton its really prominent to the point of penetrant. It also cuts into view and overlaps that giant video.
- The previous old design was much more subtil and therefore i liked it more. Everything you needed to know on one glance. Neet and tidy. This new one is too "loud" and "irritating"
This sums up my feelings nicely. I do not like the new layout at all. I really dislike the way the screenshots work now too.

ADD:

oh, and also the "owned" hint has changed.
Now when you already own something it gets a little lable on the preview-pic that it is already in your library.
But that label is buggy, sometimes it shows, sometimes not, sometimes it show and disappears after a second ...

If you go to a game in store that you already own, it will still show that giant buy button with a price tag, but instead of the "moving to cart" you'll get a "buy as gift". Also it will display a very tiny information next to the system informations with a checkbox saying that you have it in your library already.

I want the big grey OWNED back. Right next to the price and on the preview pics of games. That was obivous, clean and clear. AND it worked!

And last but not least, you had directly underneath the buy option to the main item a list of DLC's, extensions, or follow-up games that you could buy single or as a group buy "whole series".
That was very important information that you as a buyer wanted to know right away: is there an upgrade version King, Deluxe, Emperor ...? Is there music, pics and artbooks thath i can get seperately´? Are there DLC's that I might want with my main game? Is there a Game 2, 3, 4, 5 of a series? Can I buy them in a bundle?
THAT was neat and very tidy.

Now it is miles below to the buttom after a whole bunch of text and stuff. And the DLC's are listed to the left? Try clicking on a DLC to be taken to its vendour page ... good luck!
Buy as bundle? Can't remember, whether I have even seen that. Propably not very apparent.
Cursory look indicates that auto-play has been disabled.

Yay!

In other words: they have copied the design straight from Steam!

Can confirm. Auto-play no longer happens for me.

Definitely not keen on this new layout, looks way too big and spaced out. Glad I missed the auto-playing videos though!

No, I hate to say: not at all.
It is worse!

I love GoG (the service). I prever it over Steam because Steam is clunky and bloated and DRM and bullying client use and online and all that. I only use Steam for some Indie titles and some AAA that aren't on GoG unfortunately (if they would I would abandon Steam all together).

GoG's previous layout was neat and functional and minimalistic. Looked a bit old-School but was OK for a client. In fact I liked the functional old school.

If you now compare the clunky Steam, you have a much clearer overview than on that new GoG design. The buttons are not massive, you know imediately when a game is in your library and don't get a buy option straight away still, bundles and DLC's are clearly and immediately listed as buy options underneath ...

I don't like it, but I must admit grudgingly that currently Steam does a better job in clarity and clean layout.
But it wasn't like this before. GoG was different but clean and clear enough. I totally don't get the need for a design change

The new design does not work for me either. Everything is just too big and 'in your face'. I liked the old design much better.
Maybe make it switchable?
