smuggly: Yea I got that. With the new design the controls are gone. The old small embedded video had controls. I kept the volume low unless I wanted to hear it. I can watch just can't hear any audio because of this.
Several of the game pages I just went to, the main header video is the same as the first video in the group beneath the header image... so if you play the first video in the group below the header, you're getting the header video, but with all the normal controls of a YouTube video (sound, scrub, etc.)

Ahh I see. didnt see that. they dont default to that on all of them. Thanks
Can't say I like it at all.

Very untidy.
Before you needed one look and the structure made it easy to find what you were looking for.
Now it looks like some formatting error happened.

News...? Games...? All styled the same. Extremely uncomfortable.

At least having an option to remove stuff unneeded would be nice. Like that curator collection cr*p.

Hey GoG,

are you guys out to making it worse or what? Or are you out on holidays letting the interns run free?

Ok, you fixed the scaling issue with the preview screenshots and video.
But there still are no controls to the giant mute main video.

And you continue "breaking" stuff.

Now the news section that I rely on to quickly check what's new every day has moved way down to the last spot and morphed into a horizontal scroll through thingy (again with way too big pictures).
I didn't care for the pics so much but for the short text next to it, giving you an idea what it was about before clicking to see the whole news. That was actually good. Now it is bad.

Discover games is pretty enoying - that one you could have moved way down to the last spot ...
Oh no, wait, there is even one worse: the "currated collections". Tiled like some shitty Windows phone tiles ...
That one can go way down to the bottom or even out of sight

What the heck are you doing there? Is there an intern sitting on the web design board that needs to show some results at the end of his internship and pumps out stupid ideas without rehersal to see whether your customers like them or not?!? *FACEPALM*
And I forgot to mention one more broken thing (or maybe it is intentional - which would be worse):

The weekly or week-end or Wednesdays discount bundles are gone!
I specifically remember there were still 3 or so running yesterday. I can't find them anywhere. Maybe they are just well hidden now so people are not tempted to buy stuff on discount.
OR there are just now discount bundles anymore from now on. That would probably make headlines.

Seeing what is happening with your constant design errors since 2 days I keep constantly checking my calendar to see whether it is in fact April-fools-day or some hoax that we can all wake up from and go back to normal.
Do your employees actually like those changes? Did you have an internal vote or even testing before casting this on the wider audience?

:(

Yes, there are never weekly sales during big sales. What would be the point?

They were running until yesterday at midnight as they always do, but that'll be all until the anniversary sale is over.
Unfortunately you still cannot filter games you already have in your library while browsing for new games.

+1

I can live with some of the other questionable design choices, like having to scroll down on game pages to actually see any info about what I am looking at due to the oversized banner, or games not having titles until hovered over; but the horizontal scroll and removal of the news section is just broken.

There's a reason mice have vertical scroll wheels, and pages tend to be navigated by scrolling up and down with a single gesture if you're using trackpads or touch devices. Now you have to stop scrolling, stop, then scroll through each section sideways (not that horizontal scroll gestures even work with this layout on my machine, so I guess click repeatedly) and open pages in new tabs because there is no information in the little boxes. Having everything broken up like this is incredibly awkward to navigate, and effectively removes the news feature from the page.

Hi there. Thanks for assuring me. I had some suspicions about this. But I was unsure because some of the discount-bundles were still showing a counter of 16hours or even 4days to run. So way past beyond midnight.
Shouldn't GoG either have let those go on as advertised or edit their counters to all expire at midnight when they were taken off?
Maybe someone will find it useful for making backup covers or something:

Those game logos you see on game page banners are separate images with transparent background. Not every game has them though. A couple of examples:

Edit: they also come in 960x570 resolution.

Has it? I don't see it at all because everything is broken and cut-off. The "discover games" section where only "popular" is apparently a thing and which also has gigantic tiles is hilariously bad as well. Honestly, I should probably avoid anything but the forum for the next two weeks or so until they hopefully fix this complete mess.

For those saying it was designed for mobile, I can assure you it looks awful on mobile as well. And forum is still broken.

Not to mention website is borked. Apparently, against settings, because I am in Switzerland the webpage is in German, only German, only directs to German forum. Changed language, no effect. So front page is a mass of colour and German.

I'm not exactly negatory on the redesign, but I will say there are a few tweaks I'd have in mind, mostly on the lines of reordering the presentation of content.
Looks good.

Using IE too I guess? Yeah, they made really sure nothing works in that anymore. Nothing of the new version, I mean. Forums still do.
